Gald you brought this up as i'm making my skyline cage out of T45 and wanted to know if i can go down to a 1.5mm thinkness.

will my safety devices fia/msa spec bolt in cage be fine? sorry if retarded question but some say pipes to small but can they be if it even has fia/msa sticker on cage?!?!?

to answer all the last three questions in one go.....

t45 is fine

but the minimum sizes stay the same ....

unless....the cage is built by a recognised rollcage builder and has current MSA or FIA approval certificate. - in which case contact me before building/buying/enter the car

I was going to make my cage out of 1mm, but decided to go for 1.5mm to be safer, i'm going ot have it FIA approved tho, so i'm sure it will be upto spec.

EDIT: MSA appoved should i say....

IF its approved ..... there will of course be paperwork/ROPS certificate to back it up then fine.....but without paperwork......

I would imagine that the cost of the paperwork/inspection would be dearer than the additional cost of thicker tubing
