For the seats: The only part of the regs that have been relaxed is the one regarding the passenger seat. This year a FIA seat is not compulsory for the passenger seat.......... but without a FIA seat for the passenger you will not be able take passenger onto the track. For the drivers seat, the regs remain the same - the drivers seat MUST have FIA approval in the form of an FIA approval label on the seat- the labels are marked with the make and serial number of the seat and approval lists are available to scrutineers so changing labels is not going to work. If your seat is the EXACT same model as one later approved by the FIA AND you can provide an official letter from the manufacturer stating the details then this may be allowed So to make it clear - no FIA labelled drivers seat - no scrutineering label and no cars are allowed on the track without a scrutineering label on the competition day(s) Last edited by scrutineer : 19-02-2007 at 08:43.

Morning all I deleted a "few " posts as we seemed to be going round in ever decreasing circles ( me included) felt it better to start again.seats issue answered already seat mounts If the original seat mounts are strong enough for the job then they can be used be you need to have a good look to make sure the floor around them is also good enough. I will be at Lydd...spectating... but if anyone is unsure pm me and we can have a look there which will still give a month to sort things out Harness mounts good point in that the mountings for the harness do need also to be fit for the job. Again, original ones can be used if strong enough - some original mountings may be able to be used with a spreader plate as well but designs vary. If using a commercially bought spreader plate that is smaller than the regs size, you can aways use it with a larger spreader plate as well. Marc ![]()

I havn't seen it written anywhere but forgive me if it's been answered... Does the FIA approval have to be in date? Surely if the design is up to FIA standards then as long as the seat is not damaged it should still be FIA? It's not like it is made of some mythical materials that combust after 3 years etc? I'm asking because I have a cobra monaco which has an FIA print on the side but it appears to have the number "1999" on it, I'm not sure if this is expiry etc as I can't remember exactly what it said but would this be OK? Thanks.
