| Drift Central by EDC As you will have now seen Driftworks have released some of their practice dates at the new Drift Central. EDC has spent a lot of time and effort acquiring the venue and ensuring its Drift compatibility, and we are pleased details are now being released. We started talks with the owners towards the end of last year and with the help of Phil, Brett, James, Tony, Maz and Sleepy ensured its compatibility as an all Drift level facility, so you can see this has not been an overnight deal but something that is well thought out. It is having a face lift at the moment with a new tarmac paddock area being built plus other buildings so come the summer it will be an even more impressive facility. It's more than just an open expanse of tarmac or a restrictive course layout but a facility that will enable the first time Drifter through to the Professional EDC Drifter the ability to learn or enhance the skills in a controlled and varied environment. The facility has areas that are downright unforgiving (as Phil found out whilst testing one time) and open expanses where it will be nigh on impossible for a new driver to make contact with anything unless you wish to. DC can be split into two sections allowing dual operations so lessening down time in certain levels of practice or training. EDC set out to achieve a venue worthy of all levels of Drifters but EDC itself will be concentrating on the professional EDC driver, plus those drivers just outside of being EDC License holders. We will be holding training days here throughout the year, and by training days we mean training days and not relaxed atmosphere practice days. EDC recognises that its competition driver development is an essential aspect of what it set out to achieve and therefore is concentrating on this area in particular. We have a goal which is to produce drivers to a standard that can rival the best in the world, we proved this in 2006 with regards to how driver standards and skill levels improved dramtacially from 2005, and for 2007 we will be keeping these high standards across the board from our people skills, demos, exhibitions, training-driver development through to our competitions. EDC is leading the way with regards to all aspects of professional competition Drifting in Europe and this is merely another small but calculated step in the process of advancing Drifting in the correct manner and to a wider audience. More details to follow as the year gets under way. Regards, Last edited by EDC Admin : 20-03-2007 at 10:36. |

| Origin x Skay ![]() | This is great news! I think the UK Drift scene owes everyone listed above a BIG thankyou for finding and sorting out such a great venue. Maybe we all take the people who work so damn hard for granted as without them UK Drift would be no-where. Looking forward to the EDC training too. ![]() |

| Yeah, thanks VERY much for sorting this kind of thing out. Perfect I hope everything goes to plan and the UK's wishy washy practice situation starts improving to a really great level. With this type of find, I think our drivers will really start improving a lot! |

1. The facilties in which a driver can improve 2. Commitment by the driver and the pure will to improve I believe from a personal POV, that number 1 has been achieved with DC and EDC.... it all comes down to the driver in their attitude, commitment and car preparation now. You can only get out what you put in... but a great result to get such a venue and i'm sure we will see plenty of good drivers who will consider this the holy ground of UK drift | |
