| What's the going rate for borrowing a fully compliant car? I only ask because Bruno would sell his Grandmother if the price was right ![]() On a serious note-I think there is more to it than just borrowing a car for money. Wouldn't you have to have something in place to compensate for a huge smash? Also, you would need to get the car in advance so you can get some practice beforehand. I know there are some guys that can rock up any car they get into, but you will be driving against these people who will mainly be in their own car. You may have left it a little late, but good luck in your search ![]() |

| If it helps, I loan my car out to Ralph to drive, we have a simple deal - we talk! The basic rule is 'bend it- mend it' but you have to have some give and take - like when an engine dies, not always the drivers fault - but communication and mutual respect is the key. It can be rewarding for both people, i get free drift lessons, Ralph has contributed some parts for the car as well and sponsors are willing to help build my car to a better standard to promote their companies. |

| With reference to Davids post thats exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of. I am sure there are other sensible people out there wanting to get the mutual benefit out of the EDC. Go on, there must be someone out there wanting to see their car on Motors TV along with the other 16 miliion people watching! (I am in begging mode). | Wasn't someone building an EDC spec Sierra? I think the TDI Lexus IS200 is being built to EDC spec too. BTW, after the EDC licensing, you can always see if anyone who ailed to get a licence can lend you their car ![]() Last edited by Username : 23-03-2007 at 17:59. |

| Yes good point stevec200. Got my licence at Donnington last year in and old Datsun (heaviest steering in the world) which was quite an achievment, then I tried to be different with a V8 sierra that had crud steering lock and was generaly tricky to drive and did most of the rounds with not much dosh. Got some good scores and missed on qualifying at the final by only three points (but everyone had upped the game by then). Qualified at Knockhill in the Datsun was up against Mr Loony so no chance there. Just need a proper car to prove myself this year but I have limited money like most people out there. |
