Also w202's are wanky plastic pieces of poo with one of the worst build qualities of any car ever, sorry. I had a Merc 190 Cossie for 2 years and it is the reason I became interested in driving sideways. It is very similar to a e30 m3 to own and drive only a bit softer and a bit less cool. Perfectly capable of being a competetive drift car but again price of the parts reqd to get it compliant and competetive prevent it being worthwhile (same can be said for e30 m3's generally). I have owned a few Mercs and I do like them but for the average Joe on a limted budget who wants to compete it makes absolutely no sense to use anything but a Nissan. 4k on a Merc Cossie or even a Merc C36 AMG (provided you can manual it cheaply) then spend thousands making it as good to drift as a 4k imported s14? Spoonman I also really want to see more Euro cars in drifting but I dont think it can be hurried. Stubborn individuals with good bodging skills or too much money will get them out there, slowly but surely.

| spl dori master | I have a 14 year old W202 and its still running great, the only things that have gone wrong on it are tiny little things that are actually my fault (like the seatbelt buckle cought in the door breaking the button that senses if the doors open). Its done 85k and Ive had it through two MOT's with no problems at all (appart from brake pads but you cant not wear those out). You may have a point if youre talking about the post 95 ones, after merc cut their costs by reducing quality. But you cant generalise. Also I think the 190 cosworth is way cooler than the M3, If I had an M3 first thing Id do is take off the m3 badges so I dont look like a showoff. |

| Hahaha, I love how harsh this place is, almost like the real world. Nothing wrong with mayonaise tho. Anyway back O/T: I don't really get what all the fuzz is about. Just use what you can get it, be it a volvo or a chaser. As long as it's drifting who gives a crap about the car you're using. |

I think the 190 Cos is kinda cooler than a e30 in a understated way but face it the e30 m3 goes slightly better, handles slightly better, and looks much more kick ass with it's wide body 2 door layout. It's gonna be the majority choice. Now if we're talking evo's then the merc has it. EvoII merc cos over EvoII e30 m3 every time imo ![]()

| spl dori master | Id like to have a car that no one but a petrolhead would actually know exactly how good it is, everyone knows and M3, mind u Id be happy with an m3 if I could afford it. as for the w202, think it depends on the model, mine is an elegance, so it has wood, which to be honest is good coz without it the interior would be very dull, even if it is fake. |
