5 minute rule.

Yesterday there was a few times when the track was empty, as people had to change wheels etc.

How about the guys that didn't make it through to the competition/top 8 etc are set up at the start line with the comp guys, so that if a 5 minute rule is enforced, they can entertain the crowd with some skids infront of the crowds/some showboating? Would keep the entertainment factor up, and also help them justify paying the cash to enter imo.

Just a suggestion

Steve

Also, instead of getting the stewards to clear the oil spils, why cant we get some of the drivers out to do some do-nuts/burnouts ala D1?

although it's an idea which would keep th etrack in use and also keep the crowds entertained, i think it's dangerous that people could lose track of the competition and get confused.

Personally I quite like the tension element of "will s/he make it back to the start line in time?"

what would be really nice is to be able to see whats going on at the startline through a giant screen or something like they do in D1GP Japan. Thats gives everybody a visual representation of whats happening and people wouldn't be put off by the lack of track activity

D1 exhibition in 2005 they used the screens, you could see the action on the big screen, and there was a feed through to the widescreen TV's in the VIP suites, so we could duck inside and see the replays on the TV's!!!

That would be ideal.

As a spectator for the final 8 the 5 minutes can be a tad dull, even with Maz's drunken ramblings.

But as a driver in the bottom 8 I wouldnt want to do Steves donut idea as it would mean sitting at the start line, not being able to see anything, just on the offchance that I might get to do some circly skids. I'd rather be watching the top 8 do their thing.

Stick Bon Bon on the giant screen and make him improvise for 5 minutes, that'd be plenty entertaining. It'd be funny just to count how many times he said amaaaaaaaaaaaazing.

I know it would be more costly but i'd be voting for the screen's to see whats going on at the startline

screen for me
Perhaps give the top 8 air horns (the hand held type) for the presentation at the start
