A special thankyou to Mark Johnston and Weston Performance

for repairing their car and coming back to Silverstone on Sunday to give a passenger ride to a young guy called Bertie who is wheelchair bound. We had a request from a guy on here called Alex to make a dream of Bertie's come true and boy oh boy did he have a great time. Also a thankyou must go to Mr.Nick for sorting a crash helmet out for the lad, well done Nick.

We know the Weston Performance Team and Mark Johnston were 100% gutted about not qualifying for Sundays main event but they still returned to take Bertie around for the ride of his life and this type of thing shows what a very professional set-up they are and a credit to Drifting, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank them.

Regards,

Weston are top boys, with hearts too as this shows. Glad Bertie had fun! Fair play to the lad!

Knowing Mr Nick, the helmet wouldn't have been EDC spec though, but I'm sure "scrutineer" could have turned a blind eye hehe.

Thanks for the nice coments guys

After doing everything i could to make the car reliable including building and fitting a new engine the week before the event it was just gutting when the turbo gave up with absolutely no prior warning making it impossible for Mark to qualify.

When we were asked if we could fix the car so Mark could take Bertie out on sunday we were happy to do it as it made all the hard work the week before a bit more worthwhile.

Hats off to Mark for forgetting the disapointment of loosing his championship lead and taking Burtie for the ride of his life.

All credit to you Bertie for not being one bit scared and getting out of the car with most enormous grin on your face

awesome stuff.

as a sidenote, passenger rides should be a regular feature of drift events, great for current/potential sponsors as well as for cases above.
