DW write up

It's more of a brief log of our weekend changing the engine than a complete EDC article. Forgive me for the lack info on other peoples results etc, I pretty much had no clue what was going on around me on Sunday, so I write what I can remember, and that's it

quick off topic question, will bon ever paint the barge DW orange? or are you waiting for the s15 before deciding on a joint matching scheme?

Yeah I did wonder if you were going to get beatdown

Totally agree, it's more work than you'd usually allow a week for when taking into account actually finding a replacement engine in the first place. Thanks again dude We'll be looking into the fault on the 2nd engine at some point soon if your bored.. Myself and James will be looking to do a build on this engine now. We'd very much appreciate your help though as it will be the first engine build we've done . Gotta learn some time eh!

Thanks alot guys I wasn't sure if it was a boring read, as it took me most of the day to write and get the pics and html sorted.

Bons car going orange is on the cards. He want's to do it. I just need to make sure that he's happy with the idea long term, and that people won't accuse DW of ruining the car. I like the car as it is, but personally think that it will make the car stand out and look much better in photographs.

i read the write up and was definatly impressed at the commitment level. perhaps if you had the engine in the first place it could have been done, but to not even have an engine in the first place must have seemed like an impossible mountain to climb.

love the colour of bons car, from pics and close up it really suits it, but i imagine can be a little difficult to photograph? i can picture it in orange tho and can see it working.

again, great write up.

You know i'll help any way i can, as long as i get some sleep, and i don't break my arm lol, still can hardly move it.. lol hurts bad

Give me a shout when you want to get it done, as i can rebuild an engine within a week or so, not a problem.

I would defo think about getting a set of pistons in strait away 87mm lad

clarkey.

Pistons and rods purchase are in hand. We need to check the crank and block out for damage on this Stagea engine, to find out what else we need big ends wise etc I guess .. I'm going to 'reset' the workshop before we even put one car in there, let alone look at building an engine .. The mess is baaaaad

fairplay doing that amount of work... i would have parked it after the first engine going tits up...

one thing yanking out sr's... rb's are to fecking big to be changing between sessions... and when yer doing it half asleep.. mistakes get made...

maybe a new piston and set of rings on both engines if yer lucky and you will have 2 spares

cool that you've got rods and pistons sorted... need to do the rest to the same level to make sure it can take this abuse again
