EDC Round 3 - July 28th - Knockhill - Event Details Well Round 3 is next at the phenomenal Knockhill Circuit in Scotland. 2006 year was the first time this venue had been used by us and the course layout was to say the least exciting. By using Seat Curve (formerly known as Duffus) as Turn 1 the entry speeds were at the level of Silverstone with some drivers hitting over 100mph before dropping into Seat. The Knockhill staff and spectators had never before seen anything like this and neither had the drivers. Our judge at the time Mr.Ueno (of Vertex fame) commented that he wished they had something like this in Japan and that he wanted to drive his Soarer here, so this coming from him means Knockhill is as awesome as it gets. Some pics below from last years event: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For July 28th we will be using exactly the same track layout and all the drivers we have spoken to cannot wait for this event to come around. We are still finalising the timetable for this event but I can let you know that the competitors day starts from 12.30 and that the gates open to the public from 4.00pm, with the event finishing at around 9.00pm. Again the finals will run into dusk and seeing the drivers coming over Seat and through the course with the headlights blaring is a full on experience. We will be running a Licensing session on the day, this is scheduled for between 12.30pm and 1.30pm. EuroDrift Am and ProAm License holders and those who have tried out (or applied but have been unable to attend) for an EDC License will be given priority. If you are none of the above then please contact maz@europeandriftchampionship.eu with your details. Payments for Licensing and Entries are now open here: EDC Entry Fees More details to follow. Regards,

Yeah for a nice short drive!!!! Could I point out to the non locals. you will most likely have to come over the forth road bridge to get to knockhill. Currently it is receiving extensive road works and will still be at this event. Long tailbacks are a daily occurrence so be warned , leave loads of time to get there!!

| Pimms O'clock ![]() | Wooohooooo can't wait, this is the most awesome section of drift circuit anywhere (just about) a blind downhill right hander ![]() As for spectators, Knockhill is great you can get right close to the track both sides, the view is great & generally good stuff all round. Yes as for the Queues to the bridge we were up here a few weeks back for a wee bit of testing and it was awful. So get there well early. |

Its full on comitment into the first corner as you can't see the apex til your mid drift! Buff was complaining last year that he didn't have a big enough run up! Awesome for specators as said before, if you stand at the bottom of Duffus (or Seat) the first thing you see is the smoke produced from the wand, then the car appears a second later ! Oh and the gravel in a magnet for cars .. On top of that, watching the time attack cars coming in to and out of the hairpin and up the straight at full chat is worth a watch

For gods sake, don't forget the midge repellent as the evening kick off is at the request of the "Feed the Midges Trust". Poor Gaz looked like he had leprosy after we took all the banners down last year, half the midges had to walk back to the tyre wall they were so full up.

Whats the crack with the Midges then, are they just a Scottish thing, or just a Knockhill thing? I take it anyone with any skin not covered in repellant will get mauled by em? That rules out any laydee-flesh on show, which sucks, as I had plans... Group buy on Bhurkas?
