| -NightWalkers- | They're Eurodrift regs Chunky. EDC regs are: 4-19. Drivers must wear approved fire protective apparel and safety device/s with a minimum equipment level of: Crash helmet (open face helmets are allowed although we recommend full face), racing overalls, racing boots, gloves and balaclava. Optional equipment recommendation: Fire proof undergarments and HANS device Crash helmets must bear one of the following standards: FIA8860-2004, SNELL SA2005, SNELL SA2000, SFI 31.1A. 31.2A, BS6658 Type A/FR, BS6658-85 Type A. NO other helmet standards are allowed – helmets made to these standards are advertised at under £60 from a motorsport mail order retailer – EDC scrutineer can provide a link if requested. Helmets must have a non removable blue foil sticker confirming their suitability for motorsport – these will be applied by the championship scrutineer after inspection (for a small fee - £1) this will ensure pit lane officials can quickly check that unsuitable helmets are not used on the track. Overalls must have labels confirming they conform to one of the following: FIA1986 , FIA8856-2000 , EN533:1995 index 3 , BSEN533 or BS6249 part1 index A or B ( NOT index C). As a competitor you are reminded to ensure that your crash helmet is a correct fitment and of a usable standard and condition. |

| well looks the questions been answered while i was asleep the only thing i can add is for the helmet standards the BS labels are generally on the outside at the back the Snell labels are always stuck behind the lining on the inside - they can be a bu66er to find . they are a metallic orange/gold label about 2.5 inches long with SA2000 or SA2005 on them whatever you do never buy a helmet on the word of the bloke in the shop - always ask them to show you the label is actually there.......every year we get loads of people that come along with a new helmet bought like that and have to be told its no good . Many helmets are built in different ways to motorsport helmets and are just not suitable. and finally on helmets: beware of the motorcross helmets - I have never seen one thats got the right test sticker so unless someone makes one thats got the right test they are not allowed in EDC ( and never will) Ryan - anything your not sure of - PM me / email me or ask in here ....always happy to answer questions Marc |
