Dont mention thrxton to the ED lot they shot me down for that lol

I'd like to see both series have events in europe how can you have names that make people think oh that must be the best drivers from europe and everyones from england bar polody. I know it will price some people out of some rounds wich is unfortunat butas the sport grows they will get sponsorship and be able to do them.

I love the cheering for my favorite driver of the run to win althogh sometimes I find it hard who to cheer for liking most the guys. I get funny looks for it but I dont care soon it will catch on

At the other donney i took a load of party blowers, party hats and poppers (party ones not man party ones ). There must have been about 15-20 of us making loads of noise and again we were looked at like we were mad.

I think it just comes down to the simple fact that we know the drivers, so we care who wins. The average man has no idea who`s who so just wants the s-body to win because its the same colour as his etc. I think thats why drivers should have abit more introduction and abit more personality shown. That way the average show watcher will cheer for their favourite driver, an i won`t feel like a twat everytime i`m shouting on my own
That fair enough dude and respect is dude, i was just relaying what i experienced as a spectator, it sounds like it winds you up like it does me

We need to stand together and make as much noise as possible

As much as i hate to say it if the drivers need to know more then maybe the EDC need to have a same flyers for each of the drivers competing or a programme giving more info. We all know the drivers but Jo Public don't have a clue half the time..

Just throwing ideas in the air here and its good to see different opinions and hope the powers at B take note

i totally agree , at round 1 although we looked like complete numptys ...it was funny! the average chav isnt going to know who is who but they will say oh i like him then change their mind next run and ends up being every single driver is their favourite , must admit donny south wasnt quite the same the intro was good but the weather put a downer on everyones mood so we only clapped a little when our friends were out ....as you do

when the actual EDC practise runs/qualifying/twin etc etc isn't on,how about letting people take their car's onto the track aswell,to fill in for the gaps where there is no one on track?

kinda like a track day?

The biggest problem with that idea..... what happens if one of them comes off? Its hard enough keeping the EDC drivers on the track (especially me) let alone 'the public'.

regarding the "keep it away from the chavs" thing...

well i can tell you, from a magazine (ie the main way these things will get any press) point of view, drifting is currently seen as "too motorsporty" ie not modified road cars (even tho WE know they are), and is in danger of getting even less press than it already does (hell, it only gets any real coverage in Redline as it is) if you try and distance it from the main stream.

if you look there are literally thousands of small race and rally series in the UK alone, none get any press, most are unheard of by even die hard car enthusiasts, so if you want drifting to get bigger and more high profile (which is what you need if you want your precious sponsors) you NEED it to be seen by as many mainstream modded car enthusiasts as you can.

drifting is awesome, we know that, but stop being gay and trying to make it your own little cool club, you NEED it to be big if you want it to do anywhere in the uk.
