Yes and Yes - Jimmy McRae set the 2nd fastest overall time at Knockhill beaten by 0.17 of a second - not bad for a man just short of his bus pass. Id say if he had been out in the Manta he'd have won overall

Colin , Alasdair and Jimmy all compete in a scottish rally ( think it's the Jim Clark) in old mark 2 escorts with welded diff's. they spend the entire time sideways and it's phenominal to watch

actually i was thinking more along the lines of team drifting - the three of the all drifting down knockhill in formation

Jimmy is course car on a local tarmac rally on Sunday, tight twisy sections and some very fast sections in the stages. I'm marshalling in Warcop army camp, spectator viewing in Lowther Park about 4 miles S of Penrith.
Pendragon Stages if anyone fancies a good bit of rally action, there's quite a lot of Mk2 Escorts entered.

350z/Mark ran in Pro Class

First practise Mark did 15 straight laps, no issues apart from killing the disks/pads and setting them on fire

2nd practise > missed as fitting new AP 6 Pot Calipers, pads and bigger disks

Qualifying the car ran fine and finished in 12th Place with a time of 54.719 (I think)

10th place was the cut-off and we missed that by 0.800 set by Rob Barnes in the Sumo Bullet

Many teams came up and said how well the car looked and that the times were really good (bear in mind the only mods from drift spec were 2 degrees of camber at rear and lower tyre pressures)

was fun

Yea, well done Dave, and good to meet you yesterday.

I was going to bring some 350z discs and some 01 track compound pads with me, but forgot at last minute
That would have sorted you guys!

Mark said he had fun, but i asked him if he was ever tempted to link the whole Indy Circuit sideays in a plume of smoke......his reply was ".....ohhhhhhhhh yes"

After spending two weeks working our tits off the engine died due to surge during testing on Friday. Shame as the car was coming up to speed and we managed to eak 592bhp out of it.

Good show by the SVA 350

I was at Brands yesterday and the SVA 350z looked and sounded awsome, and it was great to see Mark getting the car sideways out of druids hairpin every lap Just a shame there wasnt a drift demo like i thought there would be.

everytime Mark tried to plant the power coming out of a corner the 350z just wanted to go sideways for some reason (2way diff rocks!)

seriously with a proper diff we think we could have taken 1 second off our time, putting us way deep into pro territory with a drift car

Drift car + drift driver = quick

We did wonder how much quicker, if at all, a pro driver like Ralph/Tim/Mark may have been, certainly something we will find out next year

Good to see Mark out there and he certainly didn't look out of place. Watching from where the cars were released it looked like he had one or two err...moments into Paddock, mind you he wasn't alone.
Very professional turnout by the team, top class.
