| 3rd part perspective. Firstly this is not a dig more constructive feedback i received from a third party source. This person is very influential in Scottish Motorsport and gives a good perspective on how others outside our community view the sport. We know how hard Glen , Andy , Clash et al work to produce these shows but i thought a viewpoint of an industry person would be interesting Quote:

| Origin x Skay ![]() | I've noted one of these points myself after watching the Knockhill coverage. 90% of the time the driver/car shown on screen is not the driver/car the commentator is talking about. If you didn't know the competitors fairly well it was very easy to get lost/confused. This is more an issue with the commentator on the programme [which has been mentioned countless times before] rather than any organisation or structure of events, which I think is done flawlessly and has improved each and every year. |

Those are the exact same comments my missus made when I tried to make her watch it. Get him to watch the Prodrive one and see the difference ![]() EDIT: Quote:

| spl dori master | I agree to that too, I don't think there is much more that can be done on the media perspective. I mean, looking at the guys comments above, he's not paying attention to other motorsports either, its just the fact that you know most of the well known drivers in other sports anyway + the rules.... I mean, they don't explain the rules of F1 every times its on TV and with some sports like Champcar etc, you can only recognise most different cars through the sponsoring stickers if they have the same color.Better still, in drifting (EDC) all cars as far as i can see have a totally different color scheme, if he's such a motorsports man, how can he NOT tell the difference between cars?? I find that hard to believe.... but it's probably how it was filmed or something. But Jord you are right, I think the commentator Sucks too haha, i just need to laugh when i hear his voice on the films of EDC plus the french series. | So for each 21-23 minute programme I think I get overall what you guys want from this and previous posts: 1. Coverage for everyone 2. A season so far and background breakdown 3. A beginners guide to Drifting 3. An explanation of judging Ok well thats taken up at least 15-20 minutes then ![]() Or alternatively should we have an absolutely non championship related 'lets follow Andy and Glen around and see where they are travelling from/to' for 15 minutes and then pack in the event into the final 6-8 minutes. EVERYONE generally sees and wants something different from the programmes and if a group of people say they want A another group will want B or another one C, its just the way it goes. And rest assured the majority on here is actually the minority when it comes to having feedback. People that have absolutely no idea of what Drifting is are not tainted by anyones 'ideals' of what Drift is and how it 'should' look from there eyes, these people make up there own minds and they like it ![]() Dont get too drawn Kieran by an 'industry person' perspectives as I've been around enough of these types to understand they sometimes dont actually have our best interests at heart, did he/she actually come to Knockhill then and speak with all concerned etc., etc., as these are the positive types? |
