I had a wicked time as well. Apart from the security wasting about 1hour of our time working out where we are supposed to park.

O and breaking down on the way home

All in all I thought it ran okay from what I saw, yeah the weather was crap but it's england, we should be used to it by now. I agree with the comment about opening the pit lane up for an hour or so, it would have been nice to have had a chat with some of the drivers and ogle their cars for a bit but as lightning has said, if it's a health and safety issue then I can understand why they didn't do it. Either way the skidding rocked and that was the main thing I wanted to see.

Moreso to stop anything that is not nailed down being stolen unfortunatley. Remember in 2006 Mr Steve-O and a few other people had tools stolen there, as entry to the pits was more 'open' then. Just the way things are in this day and age now

We don't moderate much at Driftworks, but I'd totally understand if this is deleted by EDC.. You have to remember that negative comments stick in peoples minds, and what was infact an absolutely superb and well run event, is being tarnished by typically English pissing and whingeing inconsequential comments.

EDC round one.. Brilliant..

I agree!!!

was a fantastic opening round!!
and weather picked up great for the final 8!
Well done to all that organised and took part!
I thought it ran increadably smoothly and very professional!

So professional even Bon's car was clean LOL

(if the sun woulda been out people would be moanig they got burnt or couldn't see b'cos of the sun!!)

I just want to say a HUGE thank you to all the teams and drivers who managed to make this event a success, but more importantly the spectators who stood through the hail and stayed to watch the top 16 battles. You guys all deserve medals or something. The good weather and the quality of drifting in the top 8 onwards I hope is reward enough though for your efforts

Weather fricked it (even later when it was dry it was sooooo cold), but barring that, due to the location of the part of the track used, the other less than ideal stuff, ie the position you spectate from, cant be helped.

Even if the infield was open, there nowhere over there where you can see better than where everyone was watching from.
Just a shame it wasnt possible to see the very end of the run from there really.

Good driving all round, suprisingly good wet weather driving from some too, much faster than previous years in the wet.

twas a good day, agree about the spectating positions being slightly less than ideal, i would much prefer it if there were somewhere on the infield accessable, maybe only for VIP or something. I was helping out(ish) declan/cptsideways and it was a pain having to walk like a mile to get back to the spectator area to be assaulted by a storm, but i won a HKS mechanical gauge off tsubaki for the oil question y0!

weather we can't do much about but some seating near the bank for entry would be ace lol. was a good day and i'd do it again, impressed by the driving, a couple of people i would've hoped to get further, was impressed by phils handling of the wet. and bons spectacularly backwards entries while wet. and phils crash dodging extra angle in one of the twin runs

So it was you that beat me to her, tried like 4 times but didnt win sweet FA! Ah well.
Weather was shyte and ISTS was a bit too much of a chav fest for me, but aint nothing gonna stop me from watching drifting. Congrats to BonBon for second place, our crowd was standing behind all the boys trying to get him more runs but hey, better than nothing.

We too had a good day. Arrived in the pissing rain and asked the guy at the gate where the drifting was - blank stare - EDC mate - blank stare - Dude the car show stuff - oh yeah, up to the left

Arrived just after the qualifying started, and walked in the gate to see stiggy coming flying round the corner Think you drove really well dude, especially in the wet and I think you should have gone further, but hey, I'm not a judge.

Gutted for Declan, it was well wet by that stage. Maceij "one more time" Polody we were standing next to a bunch of polish guys giving it loads - great atmosphere. The headlights on Mark Coynes car are

Just as well I drove up in the micra as I was gagging for it after, but its given me incentive to get the cars back on the road. was out all this evening getting the engine back together...

Rain, Hail and Shine I actually had a pretty good day - cheers orgainsers!

Someone I know who is a massive drift fan, was really looking forward to going up and seeing EDC. But didn't have a clue that it was only on Saturday. So took the trip up on Sunday, paid the entrance fee and realised that there was no drifting on!! He was really unimpressed and so were a lot of other people.

Even on the EDC website it advertises "Round 1 - April 5/6th Donington Park - ISTS Show"

I just think it needs to be clearer in future as a lot of people turned up on Sunday to watch, only to be disappointed.

As regards to the vip tickets, the only reason i brought one was to gain entry to the pits to get a few pics of the cars close up but even tho i was standin well back i still got the impression i was in the way and not really that welcome.
But like someone said before thats just a sercurity thing and totally understandable

The weather was awfull, my face still hasn't warmed up lol but even if it was snowin next year i would still be there when the gates opened just to hear and see the best drifters in europe do some bad ass skids

Great effort guysmucho respect
