| Phil Morrison Vs. Race Truck - Drift Off at Snett this weekend
Hi, For the finals we're spicing things up a bit this weekend with a whole host of things happening throughout the day on Sunday ( www.modifiedlive.co.uk ) as well as the EDC finals. One of those spicey things is a new challenge, after seeing the 1000bhp racing trucks in full swing at Round 1 at Oulton Park, it posed a thought to me - '' those things can powerslide quite well - I wonder if they would twin drift with a car? '' Well it didnt take long to get a couple of volunteers to find out and this weekend we're going to see the result.... This guy ( Dave Jenkins / Truck Racing Hero ): ![]() Versus, This guy : Phil Morrison ( Driftworks Hero ) ![]() Both on track and twin drifting is the idea... lets see how Phil bears-up with 7 tonnes and 1000bhp as an opponent.... Its real and its happening....More info can be found on the event website about times and tickets etc. Cheers Andy

Shit that does look awesome. I assume Phil knows what's going on, or are you just sending him onto the track and surprising him? ![]() Lets just hope there is no contact! A very well built/caged S15 versus a flimsy ass truck .

Haha Yes I know about it . It's been in the making for a while. With it being completely untrodden ground. Anyone hazzard a guess how fast these things are compaired to the Driftworks S15? I'm thinking I should set up the car to have much less traction than it normally would, just so I can stay behind it.

Judging from what I saw at part 1, these things are fairly rapid so underestimate them at your peril. I'd say set up for speed because you can hold a drift for much longer than the truck and he'll be under grip conditions most of the time so you'd risk losing him with a slower setup. But what do I know? I'm just a stuntman/ pornstar/ part time hitman. This is pure theory and someone will probably now say I'm a spastic because I have no idea what the fuck I'm on about. |

Limited to 100mph but they have over 3000nm of torque and a 1000hp so they will shift. Quoted as being 'faster than a 911 from 0-100mph' but that could well mean fuck all. I'm sure you would know all of this already Phil, having signed up for such a thing. It should be a wonderful spectacle and the whole event is shaping up very nicely now, especially with highlights like this being announced. |

One billion PSI and Ditchfinders and all the left foot braking in the world... I've followed a racing truck around Pembrey and they're... well, not really very fast!
