awesome drifting over there!!
scotty did averything he could to get me an awesome car! practice was awesome with the 2nd gearbox.. the car was going great! and i really wanted to go for it on the competition! but just before qualifing the cincro's on 3rd gear broke.. so i coudnt shift up fom 2nd to 3th in a drift.. scotty did everything to get me a good car.. but the gearbox was just not wanders proof... witout 3rd gear i had no chance up to the line up of drivers, bon, frenchy, eric, dan, and the rest....
so scotty did the qualifing without 3rd gear and he did really well.. even in the battle's he did everything the car could do at that moment! and he did show some good drifting!

as i wasn't a driver anymore, i was asked to be a guest judge...
and i had never seen such good drifting! the level of the competition was really high, and got the chance to learn juding from the best judge jullian...

it was a cool event! lot of driving time! good organisiation!!
really looking forward to the next round..

and again scotty, thanks for everything you did for me!!!

lennard wanders

Thank you guys for coming over and putting on a great show (if only in practice) the car will be 100% for the next round so you can go for the win.
I have got to say Wanders and Albin are so dedicated to the sport and are certainly not afraid to muck in and get there hands dirty, after Friday night practice we traveled back to my workshop (1 1/2 hour drive) we all got stuck in converting a pull type box in to push type, changed the box, changed brakes, hand brake, suspension set up plus a load of other niggles sorted.
No time to go home (3am) so the guys slept in there van and I slept in my office/tip, up at the crack of dawn load up and off to Teesside again.
So huge thanks to Wanders, Albin and Falken tyres.
JDMallstars round 2 bring it on

We also got talking to the group of people stood at the side of us spectating, and they were sharing their opinions on the fact that they would have liked to have had a walk around the cars etc, so i was passing on this opinion for these guys.

Just to also point out, to other comments from my original post, this was merely my opinion compared to other events I have attended. And as for us all being buddies, or whatever was said (I forgot to quote lol) when I was talking about the Gold Skyline, I was not being biased in any way shape or form, as Dan was driving the Skyline, and Yesterday was the first time I have ever met Dan in my life, and I might add, it was quite briefly as he was obviously out in the car most of the day.

Just a quick note for all behind the scenes .... This is my opinion and a passing opinion from the freinds I had that attended the event, and the public that I got chatting to, nothing to do with Simon in the slightest.
Hi Carly

Yeah get your point, one of my mates couldnt get to the pits either but rules is rules (I didnt have anything to do with the runing of the day)
In my opinion (and it is only my opinion for what its worth) and I am sure most drivers/teams/health and safety people would agree to have a thousand or more people flow in to the pits would be a nightmare as the pits were full anyway plus cars in a hurry to get on and off the track, it would only be a matter of time before someone got injured then it would be game over for all of us.
An ideal situation would be a barrier between pits and public so the public could see what was going on but unfortunatly due to the layout of teesside that is not realy possible although pit space was provided next to the barriers were the public passed on there way in.

was a great weekend but was the first event for the year for alot of people so cars had teething problems and so alot of people were missing there cars and spent alot of time fixing there cars during the weekend, Andy cooper , chubby , Paul Conlan , Dean Kearney , Christy Carpenter all had problems with there cars ,
Dean only got 2 laps and blew 2 gears out of the rb25 box and his cwp in his 600bhp silvia !

Will see you all at JDM Rd 2 in Cornwall in June ,

Got home at 11 after a 11 hour drive home back to the garage was to fricked to unpack the van and pickup so every thing,laptops,cd/player,dvd,player,satnav,race suit, tools, parts etc. They cut the alarm and ripped the side door open, smashed the camper conversion up to get into the back of the van, think the van might be a write off due to panel damage. All in all, after the pickup breaking and the Laurel running out of fuel in the qualifying, its been a brilliant weekend.
