Which car were you driving Dec? I could hear fook all over the PA system.

I must admit that final was worth the wait, such a amazing drive by all involved!

Roll on Round 2

Just arrived home now from the event, still trying to warn up, my toes and fingers are freezing lol.

Some good drifting today guys and girls, some very talented drivers out there ... I was very impressed!!!

However, i must express my opinion to say that I feel the event was poorly organised. In weather like it was, stood around waiting for 50 minutes after qualifying was appaling! Alot of people were starting to get agitated, and I know quite a few left at this point and gave up hope that the show was going to pick up.

The PA system was poor, we were stood very close to the speaker, and still couldn't understand a word that was being said. There was a few people there (marshall's/security whatever they were) they were rather short, on the verge of coming across as arrogant, which gave the event absolutely no atmosphere what so ever. This also became apparant with the public not being able to enter the pit area to get a bit of banter going with the drivers. Fair enough the drivers won't want the public constantly round them all day, but a little bit of time down there to see the cars properly surely wouldn't have caused any problems??

Just one more thing that i wanted to add, I feel that a few of the twin drifting rounds were judged a little too quickly, booting out some rather good drivers that should have gone a little further. The group I was with, and the crowd around us seemed to disagree entirely with the decision made between the gold skyline and the very tidy white corolla.

Aaaaanyways, all the drivers .... Very well done, you put on a great show regardless. Now I think it's time for me to get a brew to try and warm me up!!!

On this note.
I don't mind people walking about the pit area, as i lock and chain most of my gear up. I feel this is what i need to do with an open pit area. Things do go missing.
But you didn't miss much apart from lots of broken gearboxes and diffs

My point on this came from experiences at other events really, where we have been allowed to enter the pit area, take a look at the cars and chat to the drivers. I feel that this gives off a mush better atmosphere to be honest, and makes for more entertainment at the event.

When weren't you allowed in the pits, we spent most of the afternoon between there and watching practice on the other part of the track and yes there was lots of broken gearboxes lying about. Shame the BM powered Manta could'nt be fixed, would of liked to of seen it out on track.

Yep, i guess that happens when your all buddys eh. Although i was surprised to see all the toys were left in the pram. Looked pretty clear to me Eric had the upper hand.

Great day!

im not comlpaining bout any decision, Bit harsh Jimthejunior!
Right or wrong the judges decision is correct, i have got a completly different attitude to drifting this year so plz dont jump on my/team japspeeds back as soon as someone says somthing contradictory.

I thort the whole day ran exceptionally well for the drivers, we got so much seat time!

The Irish lads were cool, and very friendly, there was no "im not talking to you business" going on!

Well done Niall, cant wait for the next round!

Dan

Well taken Dan

Great day yesterday Drank so much Rockstar that I drove home instead of going to the hotel as was super wired

Nice to see so many familiar faces and great performances. It looks like it's going to be a fantastic season. Frenchy and Eric were on fire, as were Bon and Hetro Dan They seemed to be markedly quicker than the rest. Good to see Buttsy out in the evening after he was working all day under his S14 hybrid pickup thingy too

I thought it was brilliant!!

But i do agree with some of the comments, there was a bit of waiting round after the qualifying, especially in that weather! Shame it was wet = no smoke!!

Well presented by Dan, did a good job of keeping going on it!!

Awesome driving too, they guy in the panda Hachi was good, the Skylines were good but my favorite driver was Frenchy, awesome

Favorite car had to be the Angry Pirate, sounded strange on the limiter, was it missing or something? Well driven by Bon too - where was the chaser??

Well done to the winner, awesome drive, seemed to be able to drift just as well left-footing it hanging out the door too

I know he's a team mate but I want to wack a word in for Jon Beezy - really stepped up to the plate this weekend. He finally has got the hang of the low powered (230hp) Rx7. I think he qualified 9th in a field of good drivers - just shows what he is going to be capable of when he gets some more power where he needs it - nice one

Also Niall - what the feck is in that 'rockstar' stuff - sent me and Tom diddlo driving home after 6 cans each

Just wanted to say thought last night was a fantastic night everyone. Excellent driving and brilliant final, both winners were well deserving (the corolla and the green 200SX) apologies for not knowing the names put the PA system was non existance on opposite side of stadium. Bring on the next round. Cheers everyone
