| What sort of mods would I need to make to my 4WD Nitro car to get it drifting nicely? I know they do a proper drift kit that changes things like the motor position, but is it really necessary? The kit is £140, and so far I've had difficulty sourcing one. Obviously I'd need to change the tyres (Although I was thinking about some PVC pipe for starters), and presumably it'll need a tad more ventilation for the motor? Any hints and tips will be greatly appreciated It's the HPI RTR3 |

The standard RTR3 is cool for drift in the damp but the mid engine layout of the conversion kit allows you to make some wild transitions and carry some serious angle. Im crap and i've only used it once i'd rather smash up my savage instead I'll try and get some pics up its a tasty piece of kit ![]() | |

| I take it the kit has bits in that I couldn't make myself? I used to race electric RC cars in my youth, and made myself a mid engined chassis for my old Mardave Cobra just to see if it would make much of a difference. Which I'm pleased to say that it did I got the idea from a conversion kit that Kyosho brought out for one of their RWD cars. |

| spl dori master | jsut get a leccy tt-01 or tl-01 of ebay and stick leccy tape around all 4 tires, cover the whole for the rears and cover 2/3 or from front from the center rear = ||||||||||||||| front = |\\\\\|||||||||///////| the / \ are tread the ||||'s are tape you can do that with any 4wd rc and it should drift, nitro's tend to over heat unless you limit the engine speed |

| If I can get it to drift, then that's all I'll do with it. I may just buy that drift kit for it and go have some fun. I'm not really interested in ekectric cars anymore though. I spent years constantly charging and discharging batteries, with a nitro I can just fill it up and go ![]() |
