As Kieran said, try it with the traction control on, gay as it sounds, its far, far better.

Without it, as I said, you just wheel spin, and spin, and spin.... and spin some more.

Or you could just practice a little bit more and not spin?

Im pulling 4mil scores now without any driver aids and I have still only dedicated a couple of hours to it. Im surprised it drifts with TC on!

Tc just stops you spinning immediately when on full throttle and means you don't wheel spin ridiculous amounts in all gears. Try it with it on. (can't give a balanced opinion on it without trying it with it on now can you? )

Bear in mind I played the game round my mates house for maybe an hour at the weekend, and I was doing the other races too, not just the drifting.

Its amazing what score you can get if you keep on turning round, driving backwards and having another lap. Otherwise you found 65 corners over 3 laps on that track. And looking at the fact that most of your drifts were only the second one down, you need more practice. Nice try.

Best score is about 7mil with no aids.

Quite easy all you need to do is keep the combo going.

WTF!!! its all about getting your combo up if you can link 2 and a bit complete laps you can get a score like this. I think i was on about 48x combo when i got this score. Sorry but i dont cheat, if you try turning round and going back to get another free lap you will notice that the points won't add up as the game developers have thought of this already... if your gunna accuse some one of cheating get you facts right. you can manji down the straights you know thats how you rack up a multiplier! and thats why i have so many smaller drifts on the score sheet.

here's 30mil

NOTE MY HIGHEST COMBO IS 10k SHORT OF THE FINAL SCORE!

As mine seem to be either on or off. Would give you a little more control if you could ease the brake/throttle.
The PS3 version uses the triggers for throttle and braking on this game unless you've modified the controls. I think this could be the way forward but it does feel a bit weird being used to playing stuff like Gran TUrismo using the buttons.

The buttons on the SIXAXIS are still analogue like the Dual Shock 2, but the feel is totally different. If you get something like GT5 Prologue where you've got a little meter showing how much throttle you're using, you can use that to learn the pressure points on the buttons. It seems like there's more levels of sensitivity with the SIXAXIS but the feel is so different that I can't get on with it after so many years of DS2. I'm hoping the Dual Shock 3 will be more like its predecessors.

You CAN actually turn around and keep repeating the laps and your score will add up. But by the looks of things you did actually get that score. Congratulations, you win at life.

When I played GT5 I realised they were touch sensitive but they don't seem to be in GRID. Unless as you say, using the shoulder buttons as default.
Whats this you say about Dual Shock 3?

Without wanting to turn this into a hijack, the sixaxis was never really anything more than an interrim measure by Sony. Despite what they said about vibrating controllers being a technology of the past, it was simply the case that Sony were in the middle of a legal squabble over some patent violation with regards to the old dual shock controllers.

Now that's all sorted, the Dual Shock 3 is soon to hit the shelves. It's basically the same as a Sixaxis but features the dual shock feedback capabilities. Means it's got the proper 'heft' that the old controllers had. I've never liked how light the sixaxis feels.

Not all games are compatible. Early titles aren't. Recentish ones have some limited feedback features. All current and future titles should be fully compatible.

Not sure if they're actually out yet in the UK, but if they're not then they should be soon

tried it on the demo on the 360, its a bit odd, and gives you more points for understeering than anything else. the physics are wack butit has a more realistic feel i found that the other games out there, you can throw it into a drift flick style rather than relying o the handbrake and you can link all the corners with lovely manji's
