Chris Hodgetts was amazed when we had to strip the engines down in post race parc ferme and he saw a properly fecked piston in our engine.. "that's on the verge of blowing up!" to which my dad replied.. "no it was like that when we built it!" hahaha happy days.
Haha cool. You know of any cheap rolling kart chassis around? not bothered if they are rotax or prokart or whatever, as long as they have the basic back axle and steering gear intact and will roll. Need one for a little project!

racecarsdirect.com (Race Cars For Sale) » Karting » Karts for sale
UK Karting - Market Place (Classified Ads)

I bought my last two karts through the karting.co.uk marketplace. Plenty of bargains to be had.

The MK3 escorts FF problem can be remedied:

Yes that is a RS1700T which is a 1700cc turbo and Mr Malcomn Wilson has one which i have personally seen, there are 3 left, one in scotland one in austrailia and his in his very own private collection and what a collection it is at MSPORT. awsome

my dad is currnetly building something similar too called a Gartrac which is a rwd mk3 escort but his will have a 24v cosworth TT or supercharged unsure yet

Thats what I was looking for on google but gave up and searched RS1700T instead, My parents house is about 5 minutes down the road from gartrac. They used to do a lot of AE86 stuff to.

As well as the Gartrac RWD escorts (there was an unfinished one on ebay recently) there was also a company called Genesis that used to convert them. One of the guys on the turbosport forum used to bring one to the north weald days and drift it.

I was never really fussed about MK3 escorts but they kinda grew on me when I saw the RWD conversions, and now they are 'retro cool' hahaha.

What is wrong (or right to be more accurate) with this picture? >
