The start of Driftworks

All the shit that we're having with the DW S15, and the nightmare of engine expiries last year with the R32, occasionally provokes memories of simpler times.
The days when we drove cars to and from events with a load of tyres crammed all around us, the days where it's more unlikely than likely that anything would break after a day abusing the car, the days when had fun road trips across europe at 100plus with no slow vans, and the days where there was no pressure to perform for sponsors..
I certainly have no complaints at where I am and what I do now. I love it . But checking through some cd's I found on a shelf, I found this picture, and it's just nice to remember the simple start to Driftworks once in a while

I`m still living those days with the rest of the midlands and Dtown kids and i`m in no hurry to move on tbh, i love the fact its all simple and no pressure, just mates having fun. I should have moved on by now though lol! guess its a hidden blessing i`m a poor student. It keeps things simple.

Got to admit, i'm still a complete newb but i think i had more fun in that little ov than i ever would competing in a expensive car!

Btw the cars looked nice with simple black and orange wheels!

I'm no better then when I first started, infact sometimes I think I'm worse

I'm also at the stage of filling the car up with tyres/tools the night before and getting rediculously overally excited about the following day to skid with mates. Makes it all worth while.

I still LOVE drifting, LOVE the scene but HATE having no monies.

Thats the stage I was at last year, constantly pestered by people to "move those bloody tyres", but this year, no permanent house and nowhere to store rims is gonna make it tricky

I'm at that stage,
  • Cramming the car full of tools and tyres and hoping I can still drive it home at the end of the day,
  • Doing odd jobs around the house to earn tokens to get out to the garage and work on the car,
  • Sneaking expensive parts into the house,
  • Claiming the shiny part I've just bought (when caught red handed) was a second hand E-bay bargain.
  • Being charged by local tyre man to fit tyres despite the fact we have his company name on the car!

Ah that was some time ago now boys.

I remember when james first took his 32 to brum wheels - he was beeming like a fool LOL.
His S14 went to jimbo I believe (where did he go?) - nice chilled days at places like the tuner gp - it was the bomb.

Onwards and upwards for you sirs. When you boys have had a few events without troubles you'll be all happy again.
