Agreed, Mike definently needs some sort of sponsorship. His driving is really really good i mean come on he got into EDC in a crappy old BMW(sorry mike ) and qualified 1st mostly because his no fear style of driving.Bren you should really think about giving him a go in the skyline would be really good for him to see what he can do in a good car. Hes got tytE sKilz y0 ![]() Last edited by jammie654s13 : 21-05-2008 at 23:19.

You need to get a shitbox again Sid, but one that doesn't smash itself to pieces everytime you get in it! lol. It's great I have a car that is doing the job, and I can just about scrimp together enough to compete in it too! I'm sure you could do the same if you downgraded But you may as well stay with the car now you've bought it, and get it ready for british open maybe? If not then deffo BDC 2009 ![]()

| Pimms O'clock ![]() | I was watching a good few of Mikes runs in qualifying due to my clutch being out of action, have to say he drove very well for qualifying, however battle drifting is a different ballgame. Lots of angle & lots of smoke = slow, simple as, which leaves room for overtaking, I too would probably would have gone for a pass if I saw an opportunity. No offence to either driver its all part of the game but pulling huge angles means another driver is likely to try a pass. If its mid transition than the likelyhood of mishap is always there. Judging anothers transition point is always part of the challenge, beating them to it gets you an advantage at times. You only need to watch the Jap guys to see the diffference between qualifying & battle runs to see what I'm on about. |

Well put Declan, I can see the mistakes I was making when twinning, part of which was the startline tactics when Tim slowed down before the tsuiso cone causing me to slow from "flat out", then see him fire off ahead (when he was supposed to lead of course) making a big gap with his powaz. Next time I'll be wise to this and just keep it pinned. I have only ever twin drifted twice now, and this is the only time I've done it at appreciable speed, so I'm happy I didn't turn into a nervous wreck, let alone the fact that I smoked out the camera man in a car with 1/3rd the power of the other, and that I drew 5/5 in the first round! I can tell the experience that I've gained though and really look forward to taking that with me into future events Gotta learn somewhere!

i dont think anyone was slagging Tim, all ive seen is nice words, esp from Mike, and everyone was praising the Skyline as its fricking badass now its got a proper mans engine ![]() people thought the judging was a bit odd, probably made worse by people taking it personal and defensive over it all, but deffo not slagging tim. would love to see mike in a good car, always said that for years now as he has the bizzare ability to rock even in properly shite cars.

Tim's is about the only car I hear through the noise canceling headsets we wear as he comes up to the line, don't hear him when he sets off though but do hear Pete Barbers! Some great sounding cars out there this year, really good to have a mix. Well done guys, looking forward to Silverstone.

I spoke to the exhaust place today, they were suprised that the car was too quite as the back box is fairly small in comparison to the 3.5" bore exhaust system running through it. They say that we cant run the back box without wadding as the exhaust pulses could fracture the box but all we need to do is replace the perforated centre tube with a solid piece. This will protect the box and will increase the volume level significantly ![]()

Woohoo I was expecting it to be a lot louder too, but at the same time my exhaust is 80mm (nearly 3.5") and I only have a 3.5 litre, so with that theory you guys should be running like 4" straight through mwuahahahaaaaaa. With a trumpet on the end, and a PA system hooked up to a tailpipe mic! I need a v8 ![]()

yeah he was transitioning but like, off the track, in the way, behind me, with no angle. I agree it's tough, tougher than it first looked ![]() Sorry bren you've gotta fix your wing, but I have an irreperable crease/dent on my quarter and arch now as well as a busted rear cluster d'oh. Oh well it's only an e30 ![]()
