thanks guys, it drives loverly, pulls very hard, effortless power. its still got the Catalic converts on, and there are 4 of them!! (2 cats, and 2 pre-cats) so going to remove them, free up some power, also getting it chipt, then turn the boost a couple of PSI. thats all got planned for it really, not planing on drifting it. its just a cruiser. only other thing its missing is leather. may get some after done the basic stage one mods. have heard they are a nightmare to work on, and the overheating issue, but no problems "yet" ![]() its got 11months MOT, 6months Tax, 75k miles (119km) Last edited by YashioFactory : 09-06-2008 at 19:53.

Not a nightmare as such, just expensive when thingsa go bad! Really wanna get a 60k service done if you dont have records, as that'll include water pump, cambelt, tensioners etc. As chunk says, a good ally rad is a must have and I would seriously consider a Brembo brake upgrade from a 350z. De cats will free it up nicely, and get some good BB turbos and it'll fly I would avoid the leather and go for the late spec cloth/velour interior as its lush Looks real nice form the pics, get some good high res ones up If it doesnt have HIDs already, fit them. You will need them! the headlights are like tea light candles. Make sure the underseal is up to standard too! If you need any parts, give me a shout as i've got some good connections

Booo, thought you were going to skid it. don't blame you though as they arn't exactly practical for it. They are so cheap though, its about time someone had a go, even if fixing everything is expensive! They are a proper bitch to work on, all the electrics get cooked due to the heat under the engine bay so you end up breaking connectors trying to get to things that are hid under all the manifold and intercooler piping. Just about any job on them is a fullon mission. Cooling is a nightmare so deffo do what chunk says straight away even if you are not tracking it. On the other hand they are still without a shadow of a doubt the best road/touring car I've ever drove. You can drive to Scotland at 150mph and get out completely fresh and good to go. Much nicer than a skyline, Rx7 or any other Jap car I've drove. The handling is excellent as well. Kind of like a Beemer in that they understeer a little before oversteering. The weight is the only thing that lets them down as it really wears down the bushes and the like, and the brakes arn't up to the job. R33/34 gtr brakes are a great cost effective upgrade.

| i got recents for water pump & cambelt change, its only been in the UK since 2006, so it hasnt seen mucg shitty weather/grit. i drove the car 220miles home, no problems. it was a hot day also, no overheating, was at 90-100mph most of the way home. brakes could do with an upgrade, its 1500kg car, and at high speeds they just dont stop you as youd like to the coilovers make it hande reall nice, along with the wide wheels. i dont know if its undersealed? how can i check this? | Yeah, thats the video everyone posts when the subject comes up. I'll always have a soft spot for them. They are just expensive to run because they are £30-40k when new and everyone buys them for £4k and thinks they can upkeep them for 200sx costs |

dude, awesome. i drift (well did) a 300zx. i blew it up. like chunk said, pay alot of attention to cooling...i was always getting recovered from lydd. i now run a huge 1967 mustang radiator. does the trick!! if you do screw it its expensive. i blew both t25's and melted a piston. been fully rebuilt, bored out, new bits everywhere. just look after it. mine is stripped completely with drifty bits on it and i tell ya...it a buzz to drift!! ive driven 13's 14's r32's and 33's. they are great cars, but the z'd is like an untammed beast. give it ago!!!

Yeah, lose the hi-cas it'll only play up! You can get eliminators bars quite easily I've lost count of how many coilpacks/injector plugs I have had to change due to heat! You should be able to see if its been undersealed well, if you dont do it they will rot out. I've seen an import that was only in the uk for about three years, it was so rotten it had to be scrapped. Looked mint outside too. For the cost of a Koyo rad, its worth getting as its a hell of a lot cheaper than doing the headgasket(s) Zeds work well with Greddy profec B / Blitz dual SBC boost controllers too When running well they are a pleasure to own, especially in the summer with the targas off!

If you can find a new 67 mustang one from a classic ford site or sumin along those lines i really really suggest one of them. i didnt have a heater matrix either so temp were very high, as soon as i put that 'tang rad in it was uber cool. i've just put new heater matrix in so can only get better.
