| RE: suspension setup, don't blame it, drive a standard 25year old family saloon then you'll love your s15s setup I'm sure. Having trouble with it "snapping back" is 100% down to driver, you can telegraph standard suspension very easily and generally you can get the timing right on standard suspension 10x easier than with coilovers and all that jazz because everything happens so slowly. Just be quicker with the steering, this comes with practice, such as at Crail. RE: your mate proving your a drifter because your old tyres on old rims were "on the cords" it just means you were irresponsible driving on the road with defective tyres (not good! Trust me), if you were a drifter you'd have 10 spare wheels with a shed full of tyres and you'd only know what tread was left by going to have a look in a dark corner of your garden lol. |

| minto kun™ | fair play however i think things have been blown a bit out of proportion here, as far as i can see i dont pick up on it as "friendly banter" and im usually pretty good with the banter thing too. Meh im not that worried at the end of the day, I haven't been to crail yeah fair play, I also didn't say i was a shit hot drifter and i think you'll note i didn't actually say i wasn't practicing.. these comments? Have been created by you guys .. not me. And also Mike, my garage is now full of tyres, well not full but iirc there's like 8 or so i think (So plus the 4 on the car) im getting there >.<' I'll ensure not to make a thread of similar nature again tho lol as the last 2 pages was just full of shite to be honest hahahah! Thanks for em, keeping my entertained and smiling over the last 24hours lmfao! |

| Don't take it the wrong way mate! I feel like a bit of a c*ck as you're obviously a sound bloke. I'm just very keen on getting people skidding and not stuck in shiny car land where you spend a fortune on upgrades I was in the same position as you last year. I've wanted to try skidding for years but never have because I thought you needed a powerful car and that it was very expensive. I had the expensive car but was afraid to skid it in case I killed it. What people often don't realise is that you don't need an expensive car to skid. I had more fun in a £300 BMW than I ever had in £10k of 550bhp Rx7! and plus I could then afford to keep it going, or just buy another when I wrapped it around a lamppost 3mths later! Now I've sacrificed a few trampers I feel confident enough to get the Rex out to play again. I wish I knew this earlier because I could have been drifting instead of spending thousands on a car that looked and drove well but didn't actually do much. Thats why I always make a big deal out of it when new people in the same position come on here every month or two. |

| minto kun™ | Yeah Royal no prob's, To fair i think i took the original comment to heart a bit much hence my initial reply. Totally Totally understand what your saying! Without a shadow of a doubt, in ways i do really regret buying the s15 for the fact as you said, however i wont be in the country for xx amount of years now so i figure just get it the way i want it, have some fun and take it off the road and let it wait on my return haha.I scrapped a few positivness out this thread tho not a worry haha, needs to get to some good circuits tho as i wanna get some propar time in but just right now i have no spare papers to do so, as i also enjoy attending shows hence buying wheels just now. Anyways.. its like 23'+ outside needs to go do something ![]() |

| I'm sure any of the regular boys at Crail would be more than happy to take you guys out for a spin, give you some tips etc., despite it being a pretty gash track its still great fun to hoon about. Theres a couple of guys who come down from Aberdeen quite regularly too, maybe you could come down with them at some point? |

| I joined DW last year the week I bought my S15, put a couple of really stupid threads and posts up I'm sure. It was the first car I owned that I was to purposely oversteer on an organised drift day ![]() As soon as I got my bearings in the drift world, I bought a set of shitty steels, collected myself some part worns and went down to trampdrift! I bought my car to have fun with, I couldn't afford to fix the thing if it blew up, but frick it, it's a lump of metal and it's there to have fun with. Mint is quite a nice kid, I've spoken to him on plenty of occassions, however I genuinely believe as much as he tells everybody he's skint, he just doesn't wanna smash up or blow up his pride and joy! And I totally understand that! Personally I'm just a bit too much of an adrenaline junkie to give a frick about my paintwork quite frankly I recommend you get down to a Crail and give it some gentle power overs. Standard S15's on 16's will drift like an automatic, all it takes is a flick and bit of countersteer/throttle control and your having fun! You'll realise you've learnt jackshit about drifting if you get the opportunity to drive something slow but it's all about having fun!I seriously recommend you get on a basic practise day mint, the three days I did in my S15 resulted in a set of split turbo feeds and a couple of intimate moments with traffic cones - that is all! Then again you could do the bottom end on the first lap! I've blown up so many cars on the road driving casually, I'd rather get my money's worth out of it on a drift day! ![]() |

| only if you drive like me... I find it's mostly a case of "when will i rip the next bit of bodywork off" it makes the car look mean. I'm such a lifestyler I bought pikey's old front end and then smashed it up some more with a hammer for the proper "daily skid" look! ![]() |
