He he, hope you enjoy your new toys Ross

I've bought a few more bits to go with my D100, a CF Giottos tripod and heavy duty ball head, SB800 flash, 50mm 1.8F lens, sigma 12-24 lens (a little while back) and yesterday/today Nikon 70-200 F2.8 AF-S VR and Nikon TC 1.7E. Cant wait to try the 70-200

Oh and a spare battery......at last

Look forward to catching up with a few people when I get a chance to get to another drift day.

P.S in the link in my sig are some pics taken from Wales with the Sigma 50-500 of some surf shots and wide angle shots of the beach taken with the Sigma 12-24. Sigma do make some nice kit.

Just a quick hello as I'm a newb on here.

I use a Nikon D70 (firmware V2), with a 70-300 Nikon lens, and a Manfrotto monopod. Oh, and a Speedlight SB 600 when needed.

Shutter speeds anywhere between 120 and 250 depending on the angle of the shot. I have done a couple of successful 50's this weekend though
I'll post up my pic's when I've uploaded them so you can have a nosey

I run with 3 camera's, Canon EOS20D with 18-55mm, 50-200mm and 70-300mm lenses (first 2 Sigma, 3rd Canon USM), and then a Sony DSC-F828 (20-200mm fixed lens) which is normally used for static shows as it's rotatable lens/body makes it easy to take low/high shots while monitoring the display to centre the pic etc. Finally an old DSC-F717 for those days where the good old UK weather would love to kill the camera this comes out as it's proved to be able to take beating after beating in the wet in the last few years. So 2x 8Mp and 1x 5Mp at my disposal.

Anyway...

A couple of my shots from D1UK on Sunday...loved the back end shots with the tyre smoke bellowing out after the guys hit the straight between turn 1 and turn 2...

Pic taken at 1/2000 sec, 300mm lens, F/6.3, plenty smoke so didn't change shutter to get wheels spinning too and stuck with the static look image instead...

Similar shot of the Sumo Power Z33 (350Z), 1/2000, 300mm, F/6.3

Twin drifting shot on final corner heading for finish line, 1/1200, 150mm, F/5

Going back to adjusting the shutter speed we have one here from the Lurgan Park Rally this year in N Ireland where from memory I used 1/60 on 200mm...

Phil M and then the Sumo Power Z33 earlier this year at Mondello using around 1/60 on 150mm

And finally one of Missy's other half at the USC '05 drift demo earlier in the year at the Pod using similar settings to the rally pic above...
