You guys do make me chuckle, we get moaned at for not letting new drivers in, then moaned at because we do. Where the hell do new drivers who want to drive 100mph tracks get their practice? Of course they aren't going to be up to the standard of established drivers, go on you moaners, tell me how they get the experience to compete, remember we run only twin battles, so everyone gets the chance to improve and get as much experience out of the day as possible. If you bothered to listen to the drivers you would learn that the track at Brands is probably the hardest we have ever run....you would know that if you were there. You're probably right, it looks like it should be easy, but with all the gradient and camber changes it seems its a lot more difficult than Knockhill, possibly because of the uphill bit. We were talking about the start line on Saturday and I was all for moving it onto the bottom straight (to make it easier operationally) but Glen was absolutely right to keep it up the hill to give the drivers as much speed as possible. |

For a second imagine showing that to a prospective sponsor. Do you think anyone would say "WOAH thats well mint, here have all my things for free!" or would they say "What the hell is this. Get out of my shop" Seriously, which?.. As EDC is billed as the top slot for the top dogs, you do not expect people to be falling off the track like rank amateurs, massive gaps between the two cars that are supposedly twinning for the most part, etc etc. Yes the track is hard, i have driven Brands before in a competitive scenario, granted, not drifting, however, surely at the top level, a change in track shouldn't disable everyones ability to drift?...

I still stand by what I said regarding how do drivers with little experience of driving at high speed tracks get that experience? Where in the UK can you go and practice 100mph plus entry speeds, I'd be grateful for your views. I can see where your coming from, but until there's regular access, or more competitions run on these circuits by other organisers it looks like drivers will have to learn during competition. | |

Also its a Fresh track with a lot of people crossing new boundaries and finding new limits, having never driven Brands i can't say too much. I think what you saw there were people exploring the limits on a track they had very little experience of, if any at speeds were there is little magin for error. I am not sure that this can be judged from one video? i just think people are all to quick to slate others just when they see the slightest opportunity. Be constructive but don't just slag something off from the evidence of a poorly put together video with out giving your feedback.

I know what the video is, i love to see all parts of the drifting. Of course you go and see some mint drifting, you see a couple spins, but there was some shocking efforts going on in that video, and they would still be shocking if they were dolled up US style with 8 million filters on them. Does EDC not run a practice session any more? I know some things changed a while back but i can't rememeber the craic with that. Maybe worth adding that feature again if it's no longer present. |

Silverstone's entries aren't far off 100 are they? You could practice 100mph on any airfield if you set it out right and with no room to mess up. Like i said, the answer was contained in my post, what happened to practice at the event? Does it still happen? Maybe it should so the main event looks less shit? |
