What started as a show and shine day in mondello park with a VAG spec orange Audi a3 with ''mint'' bbs spokes has turned into a very very expensive hobby (Or an infectious disease if you will).

Was quickly in awe of Drifting. Obviously have seen drifting on video on the Japanese mountain roads but it was an awful lot different in the flesh. Luckily enough I had an 'in'. Someone I had recently befriended was a semi pro competitor in the IDC so naturally enough spent the next 3 years following him around the country to events changing tyres and cable tying the bumpers on, which of course I regarded myself as his chief mechanic. He didn't. :p In that 3 years, I went from a VAG head to buying a diesel BMW to my first JAP RWD car which was my trusty little mk2.5 mx5, which I absolutely loved.

Unfortunately, due to a dick in a jeep, the mazda was no more. There was only one thing to relieve the pain of loosing the mazda and that was to start drifting.

So I went and picked myself up a standard 180sx that was about to be turned into a drift car, so I decided that I would do it.

Since I got the car, its pretty much cosmetically the same. A decision was made amongst myself and a few of the lads that I would prioritise handling/reliability/driver progression and just basically have a laugh in the car so most of the cars looks remain the same. btw, it has been cristned 'The Wasp'

Without going into much detail, the necessities that the car got were:

    Extra Lock knuckles
kaber performance arms up front including tension rods and tie rods/track rods
    5 stud conversion
    r33 gtr brakes
Modified subframe to move the rack forward and move the control arms out
    Cooling upgrades
A full over haul of all piping and hoses including DW brake lines, breather pipes etc etc
    New exeedy stage 2 clutch
    Engine service
    Cage
    Hydro
    Bucket seat
    Ignition switch panel
    HKS boost controller

In terms out power, its a standard Red top sr20det. Currently it was decided that an engine rebuild was to ensue to allow for reliability, peace of mind and quite possible a few more ponies depending on turbo decision (havnt quite got that far yet)

That's it for now and as the year progresses ill be sure to update this as it goes

    peace
