If you can supply the model then he'll be able to work out exactly what materials are required and how much and be able to give a price based on that so basically if you've already got a model ready to go it'll just be a case of clicking a button and off it goes to the machine. If i got the model on monday then it'd probably be with you the very next monday.
If only i had the spare £100,000 to set up a fab' shop i'd be able to turn this into a business! haha Never mind! So yeah, As and when you've got the model done. let me know and we'll get something going. A lump of super high grade 7075 allu 24' x 6' x 3' only set me back £60 and that stuff is THE BOLLOCKS!!!!

Hi mate,
Just seen your post about CNC machining and its strangely enough its actually something I've been thinking about at work today! Does your mate do stuff direct from CAD software, so if I supplied a CAD model (can output in various formats) he would be able to send it straight to CNC?
I've just bought a homo MX5 for cheap and was looking at designing myself an inlet manifold to accept the standard fuel rail, injectors and a set of bike throttle bodies. Wouldn't be for a while as I need to get myself a spare head/fuel rail/injectors/TB's to measure up and create the model but its something I'm interested in.
Is there any way your mate could give a rough kind of price for something like that as I have no idea if its an economically viable option for me, just basically a short stubby manifold like you get for TB's and carbs, etc. Just if its £X0's £X00's or £X000's!
Cheers
Ali
