| S-bodied again ![]() | Car transporter/trailer for sale Now sold. Hi all. I have my car trailer/transporter for sale. Selling due to no longer having a requirement for it. Loads of pics here: Index of /andy/Trailer/ Its a 6 ft 1 x 12 ft beaver tail ramped trailer (ie, not a flatbed) with detachable ramps. Its quite an old one, but has recently been extensively refurbished by myself including: Brand new brake cables and cable operating system (original tow hitch, but good condition) Completely refurbished brakes (drums all round, all operating perfectly and set correctly) Brand new reflectors Brand new tail lights Brand new jockey wheel One pair of new tyres, one pair almost new Completely brand new wiring with junction box New hitch loom plug Freshly painted Set of 4 Triumph Stag alloy wheels fitted (rare and worth a few quid on their own) Home made number plate board with no. plate lights and fog lamp and detachable plug (held in place either with a bungie or some cable ties) Will come with the wheel clamp seen in some of the pictures. Only issue is one of the stands at the back has broken off, due to the mounting point being broken. Would be easy to fix by welding a plate over and drilling some holes, the unattached stand will come with it as long as I can find it. Works fine with the one stand on one side and an axel stand under the other. It also has a detatchable tyre/wheel rack. I however found that I couldn't fit this with my S13 on there. It will comfortably fit a S13 or similar size/shape car as long as its not stupid wide or retardedly low. £600, no offers, dibs etc. Will add pictures later. First to see will buy at that price, its in very good mechanical condition for an old style trailer. It towed perfectly behind my VW Sharan, with very little noticable difference between this and a brand new trailer I was renting at the time.

I think i'm right in saying that... As long as the laden weight of the trailer doesn't exceed the unladen weight of the tow vehicle (upto a max weight of 3.5 ton GTW) then you can tow on a car licence issued after 1997 i think

Nah its not the total wight of trailer but the MAM value s if the trailer is rated over i think about 1.25 tons on a 1.25 ton car then you have to have a test, its on the dvla website but a little confusing the MAM is the maximum allowable mass so not the mass on tow, though some people just change there plates to rate below 1.2 tonns and then the plated rating means you can tow light weights
