| ChickFoot FTW ![]() | it's likely you probably won't be able to afford jap for a while, insurance tend to rape 17-18 yr olds for any insurance, let alone jap! im 20 and got a volvo 340 1.7 and the insurance isnt too bad. I'd imagine a 2lt sierra might be a tad more on insurance at your age, but it'd be worth checking. Unfortunatly BMW's are fairly expensive on insurance when your young as well, but might be worth getting a quote on a 318 e30. Good luck |

| RWD jap and cheap inurance, not likely unless you find a uk AE86 GT (infact I doubt very much with soaring values that they are cheap anymore, used to be gp 10!) I could advise if you really want to, and are prepared to wait.. keep your eye on the classic car trader magazines and on ebay and autotrader/pistonheads etc. until something like a toyota corona or other 70's small engined classic comes along! they are often dirt cheap to insure even under a normal policy! but parts dont come along easily if you break it... best bet, stick with something common and rwd like a skoda, lada, ford etc. and keep to the family friendly models! get something front wheel drive and cheap like a civic/crx 16v for your speed fix. |

Good job he doesnt want any NCB for the future really... I think theres only one insurance group that will allow the second named driver to collect the NCB... Either way, its a pretty stupid way of letting a 17yr old in a 200bhp+ car... Your 29, and had to use your dad for insurance on a 3000cc... Says it all... I used the insurance policy correctly, and had a 300zx TT at the age of 20.. Says it all really.. Id say go for something cheap.. Make your mistakes in something youd wanna scrape a bit.. Dont use mummy or daddy... Last edited by HellaFlush : 11-04-2008 at 08:32. | |
