S14 or a Lexus Soarer

Hi there all. Im new to this site and am looking for some advice on which car to get from some people on here. i originally wanted to buy a Nissan 200sx S14 but have just been offered a Toyota Lexus Soarer for £500.

This is an amazing car and has already been fitted with a racing exhaust system, fully adjustable racing suspension and a few other bits and pieces. However this car is and Automatic and i want a manual or a semi-automatic.

So i am wondering what all of you think I should do and whether anyone on here knows how easy it is to convert the Soarer to a semi-automatic with paddle gear changes on the stearing wheel.

Hope there is Someone on here that can help me,

Cheers Everyone.

You have been offered a Soarer with all that tasty gear for £500??

Buy it. If you dont like it you can sell it on and make money to use for an S14

Oh, and welcome as well

That Suprastick looks like a good idea i will look into that thanks. I would prefer to convert it to a manual gearbox but ive looked into the work and money involved and it is a lot. Plus the Soarer Manual Gearbox is aparantly quite rare and expensive to gt hold of.

Anyone got any other idears on how to make it a better drift car?

hi there and welcome to dw let me say both cars you have mentioned are very capable of skidding, on the soarer, its not that hard to convert it manual as you can use the mk3 supra turbo manual g/box (r154) and flywheel and clutch. a friend of mine is doing the conversition now hope that helps.

its the 1JZ Twin Turbo engine.

does the mk3 supra gearbox pretty much bolt in then? i mean does the linkage and everything fit in without chopping into the car too much, cause there isnt much room to swing a flea in the engine bay.

MK3 supra got a 7M bellhosing which you need to get a 1J one instead to mate the gearbox to the engine. unless the supra is a JDM import already equip with 1J.
