| EDC実況 | ok, so i just spent the last half an hour at work listening to the clip again and again to try and work out what the best translations would be. it's far from good but then, i'm not a translator. i haven't finished yet... in fact i have only just got to the bit where ben is by the tyre truck. Narrator: The person who heard about a drift competition in England was this man... Nomura: We have been to many places and areas, but today we have come to England. I am guessing that there will be a lot of "bakachin" (idiots/fools) here so lets go and find some. Text: A huge grand stand… what is this place Nomura: they are planning on running the D1 Grand Prix here Text: Rockingham speedway Nomura: From what we can see, it’s a circuit that holds 100,000 and the straight is about 5,6,7,8 “speed (? forgive me i don't understand)” entry, where you would shift down at 7. It’s really dangerous with the wall. Narrator: Just in case they expect a demo run… Text: His image training for his demo run looks quite dodgy Nomura: oh it’s dangerous! Narrator: as the home of motor sports such as F1, race day seems to be a regular occurrence. They seem to be looking forward to this thing from the orient called “dorifuto” or something… Nomura: ok, it now the competition day. Now that I’m on the track, it seems a little small. As you can see the BMW sign is colourful today. (Text: It doesn’t look like BMW…) As you would expect from a drift competition. Nomura: And this morning over 1000 people have gathered to watch the event. (Text: the grandstand has shrunk a little bit) Drifting must be huge in England too… Narrator: no matter how you look at it, it’s a local circuit. You gotta start from these places... But their interest for drifting is serious. It’s the new extreme for the young ones. Text: some kind of mistake? A magazine of another “type” seems to be here to cover the story too... Nomura: I just got given a mag like this… Isn’t it great? Oh Zaku-san (name of camera man) what are you filming? Nomura: practice seems to have started… Text: Drifters from all over the UK and Europe have gathered. Nomura: according to what I have just heard, the man driving that car has the urasu “stitched” on his arm. Just like senior Izumida. I’ll have to look after him for the rest of my life. Nomura: Stop Stop Stop. You don’t have a helmet… you do have a helmet… your helmet. (it’s ok) oh, the doodle on your arm… you are quite the “bakachin” (Text: it’s the real thing but why this picture?) nevermind, I’ll look after you for the rest of your life… he’s been watching pirate versions!!! Nomura: and here is a “gaisha” (forgein car) In Japan the BMW would be considered more luxury than the Silvia but are you a “bon bon”? (bon bon = Rich Kid) (sorry?) “Bon bon”? (Bon Bon?) Your sideburns almost join with your beard. (yeah) Nomura: Lets go. His sideburns stick out of his helmet. Wonderful! Someone that looks like the mafia has just got on board next to him. No matter how many time you look, sideburns are coming out of his helmet. Text: English on board camera looks pretty dangerous. Nomura: The camera has come out of the roof. If he crashes the camera will fly off somewhere? It seems quite bouncy… the rest will come after i get home and have some dinner and a packet of cigarettes. i need them after all tht translating from sound that hard to hear clearly Last edited by hashiriya : 10-11-2004 at 18:24. |

| EDC実況 | here is the rest of it. if anybody else understands the ramblings of Nomu Ken, please edit this freely. Nomura: no less from the English… Tyre service is here too. And further the guy getting tyres is side burns guy. Text: that Jack and the support truck. How mismatched and unbalanced. Nomura: Is he getting support from Yokohama? Text: I am Tanikutsu moguteru from Japan. When you see Advan, you see me. Thank you. Narrator: Wherever there is a drift competition, Yokohama is always there. Apparently they supplied many tyres to many drivers on this day too. Truly a drifter’s ally Text: Liar Narrator: Nomu Ken is pretty popular too. Even though it is his first time in England, it’s Photo after autograph… Narrator: Nomu Ken drives for the press… Text: ride alongs for the British press. Nomura: using this car I will be taking people from America, England Norway Canada… I don’t know. I’ll be taking foreigners. The media are all waiting Text: Is he actually getting any good pictures? Nomura: really, it’s down to speed and angle. It’s important… Supeedo undo unguloo Translator: can you teach us the monkey Pose? Text: we though it was an interview about drifting but they demanded monkey poses Narrator: These people are all crazy in the head. Nomura: Since we defeated the Russian Armada, these two countries have been great allies Text: Our joined forces defeated the Russians…. That was in the Meji Era (late 1800 early 1900) Nomura: I have been asked to be a judge. It’s a bit like being best man at a wedding. I plan on running this on my own today. Text: no less from a right hand drive country. Old used Japanese cars seem to be popular. Nomura: Shall we get the first round started? Hurry! Supeeku supeeku Nomura: We’ve finally started... who is this? S14… fillu mollyson. He has just drifted quite normally. Lets give some lenient scores… 100 points Nomura: There is a lot of applause. This man that is sat here… I think I’ve seen him before. Is drifting fun? I’m not going to translate what Tom says, if you can’t understand him, you won’t understand my babbling translations. Text: I came here from my home country of Holland to eat the English tradition, Fish & Chips. However, the woman at the restaurant said there was something going on around the back so I came to have a look. What’s going on here? Nomura: I feel like I have seen this bloke somewhere before? I don’t think I saw you in a Bar in Roppongi. The guest I have just found is going to help me judge. (In response to Tom talking about the drivers) Nomura: apparently he wants hot dogs for lunch Nomura: Ok let’s go. Fuledorick soolee. Norwegian Text: uh? He’s not coming this way Nomura: He’s going the wrong way. Miss coarse. He izu berry “bakachina” (same as bakachin from before but with a more foreign sound to it) Nomura: now from Ireland. Tomu Newton. Newton? He sounds pretty intelligent (Japanese only know Newton as Isaac Newton, nothing else) When it comes to Skylines…. mmm… I’m struggling to comment. Bakachina etc. Text: there seems to be no rules on direction. Nomura: their going whichever way they feel like (Random rambling, which I can’t decipher) Nomura: This is number 0 Maddo Steeb. Not bad though. Oh you made me jump. Nomura: Ben Blocku Sumisu. He’s movement is looking dodgy. Really flagging. Is he driving after a couple of drinks? Text: Please tell us the “trick” to drifting… by local newspaper. Nomura: As it’s my first time here, I don’t know if this is the standard for this country Narrator: there is no surprise that they are not too clear on how the judging is scored. But with time and experience I’m sure they will grasp it. Nomura: enter straight and then kick it sideways… it’s the best way. That’s the same as Japan Narrator: It was only the reporter who was listening to Nomu Ken. Nomura: Watch for that. Text: For some reason Tom-san agrees!? Nomura: They must have seen a video somewhere. He just started chasing with no instruction. Nomura: Maddo Steeb is out…. What do you think Tom? Even? Text: An excited Tom-san Bogart’s the PA system Nomura: Maddo Steeb from behind… oooooohhhhh this is fantastic. Big Mistake. “Bakachina” Nomura: The results, the finalists will both be “hachi roku” Jaymusu allusion Vs. Fuledolick soolee Tom talks again. Nomura: The finalists will both be “hachi roku” Jaymusu allusion Vs. Fuledolick soolee. Blue and Yellow “inazuma” (translated to lightning) do you know it? There was a comic a long time ago in Japan like that. Text: Tom-san used to be a gambler in “Naniwa” (A region in central Japan kinda comparable to Brum) He says “Gambling used to put food on my table” Nomura: So, Blue is in front Jaymusu allusion, the yellow is Fuledolick soolee. Nomura: nevermind. Take the money. Text: There is no limit to Tom-san’s ability Narrator: getting excited from victory, and pulling crazy stunts, I guess that the same all over the world? Text: This is the winner. As expected, a little tubby. Nomura: The roof is caving because of his weight. Text: actually, he is a pro-drifter that does car shows in Norway. Europe is quite advanced. Nomura: Tom-san, you should try drifting yourself Cant read the text as it’s not clear enough but something to do with Tom being a driver in Formula Japan. Nomura: That’s great Orido will judge us then. Nomura: This is the champions car. Apparently he does a lot of events. These tyres that it’s wearing don’t look like they can grip at all. Surprisingly, the roll cage bars are reinforced with “boxes” (sorry I don’t know the technical term) it all sees very race car like. Nomura: Of course being in England it is right hand drive. The steering wheel is place right here on the right. The owner of this car insisted that I drive it, so I did. But fuel leaks out, see you can see the marks. He told me it would be alrght once the fueld levels went down a bit Nomura: So, England is still at this stage, but I would like it to continue growing and I’ll bring some of them back to compete in D1. Wait for my return, people of England!! Nomura: Thank you Thank you. Eerrr who the hell is that? They probably think that I’m his best mate. Come to the sand pit later…. (Yeah that last line makes little sense to me too) |
