New to the drift scene been to a few days as a spectator and done some track days with friends with RWD cars who have let me use them and I'm really keen on getting involved, was going to get an S13 to replace my GT4 but I think I'm now going for the BMW drift machine as I can get one a lot cheaper!
Strange as I've only ever really had jap cars but they are soooo cheap and apparently a good way to get started!

I've looked at a 325i and a 320i, they seem to have enough 'go' to them, was hoping I'd get away with a cheapo 316 but they are terribly underpowered!
I'm just in the process of trying to rent an industrial unit with a mate so we can work on our project cars whilst still working on the GT4 nightmares we both own!!

Welcome to the forum
If you can, try and go for either the 318 or the 325, the 320's engine is a bit lazy

get a 320i and then stick a 2.5 in it,

cos at least until you get the 2.5 in you will still have the straight 6 sound of the 2.0...

new drifter

hi im Pritch i have been interested in drifting for a while heard about it through the street racing scene where i was racing a turbo nova 280bhp at wheels impossible to keep straight with team dark knight i started looking into drifting and i am hooked i bought my first 200sx s13 about 2months ago but unfortunetly was trying to drift a round about last wkend and horrifyingly destroyed it so in true drift style im picking up my new S13 on saturday much more practice needed i think before i can call myself a drifter? im from lancaster in the north west where there isnt any drifting action but i am hopefully going to catch most of the D1 series this year im a mechanic but not too sure on certain drift setups so any help would be much appreciated thanks hope to speak to you all soon

Thought the 318 might be a bit underpowered, but if you reckon I can get away with it then that'll save some more!

hey i understand this forum is british. well Im eddy, im 16 and ive just got my P's and im aussie.LOVE the drift.hopefully getting an hr31 skyline soon so i'll be able to pull better burnouts than my mate in his pintara.by the sounds of it drifting is alot bigger in England than here in Australia, we dont have much of a competetive scene here but thats the way most of us like it i guess, nice and underground

Hi Everyone.

Names Ben. Been a spectator of the UK drift scene since late 2003. Hope to make the jump to actually competing soon. Just need the car to do it as i currently drive a Honda Civic VTi EK4 (Did i hear FF Drift Team???? ).

Also looking for a nice cheap way in and currently looking around for a Beemer 325i. Thanks to Bon bon for having a chat at Northampton and getting the thinking going!!

Also thanks to Hashiriya for telling me how popular this forum is!

Hope to be a good part of this comunity and enjoy getting to know people on here and at events.

Hi Dingy,

Nice to see some more of the Cossied Escort boys here, you should come along to drift days with it, they are great fun.

BTW are you gonna be at the CF shoot at Bruntingthorpe on Friday?

Heylo

Hey, yet another new member eh. I have been aware of drifting for some time now, but have only recently considered actually taking part. This site has been plugged on the website i frequent quite a lot, and i needed some advice, so here i am.

I have just order myself one of your stickers, and can't wait to get it on my motor. I drive a Mondeo most of time, but have just done a deal to aquire myself a mk3 Capri pickup. Obviously this is not a traditional drift car, but its something to learn in.

Its not fitted with an LSD as yet. Not sure how much difference that will make, but i will find out i am sure. Site looks great people

This is the new toy!
