Hey all,

Names Mark, just registered on this forum, been interested in drifting since I found out about it 3 or 4 years ago, never really had the car to do it in until recently however.

Had my interested fueled not only by those crayzee Japanese vids, but also Initial D and the usual influences. Been interested in cars since I was born, but being a shy chap have only recently had the courage to tinker

Nearly bought a specific RX7 drift slut recently, but due to cash issues thought Id be better off tinkering with my Carlton daily driver (no sniggering at the back! )

Mods so far:- none really.
Mods to come:- 2.0 XE 16v, strippage, possible welded diff if I feel brave, decent suspension, fit all the parts Ive collected for it that are sat in my garage.

I only aim to be half decent, I know Ill never be a pro. Cant wait to attend drift days next year, maybe even D1 if the cars upto it (and the bank balance! )

Nice to meet you all.

It'll need a bit more power, in fact I'd go for something more meaty than the XE too (unless you mod it a bit). Learn to drift it then weld the diff, on a big car like the carlton it's perfectly friendly for daily driving, just a bit noisy at low speed manouvering and hard on tyres.

yeah I know it really needs more beef than an XE, but thats whats sat in my garage with all the necessary RWD bits, so it will just have to do for now. I would really like a LET (2.0 Turbo) but they are still going for silly money. Ill just put the car on a major diet methinks LOL.

Seriously considering welding the diff as well

Introduction

Hi , my name is Lee and just starting out in drifting, Done many various car related pastimes but time to learn how to drive sideways! I'm a little different to most as my chosen tool is not a jap RWD turbo but a kit car called a Fury Fireblade,440kg, 140bhp RWD powered by a Honda 900cc motorbike engine (yep, a fireblade) . This thing wants to go sideways the moment it moves so i want to learn how to control it. Hopefully it will bring something different to the table and looking for lots of help and advice. Doesnt seem to be many events local to me in Oxted but I hopefully will meet a few of you soon.

Alright mate, I see you're in the West Midlands.

Where abouts are you? I think we're beginning to get a load of Bimmer drifters in the Midlands now. I'm converting my mates and meeting more and more people recently.

I like my E30, its fun although i want to weld the diff up to make it a bit better, plus there is quite alot of body roll at the moment but i'll try and make that better over the winter. I reckon an E30 is the next best alternative to an S13 though, especially as there are so many about.
