18 year old, 1 year no claims, 1998 ford fiesta worth 300 quid, no additional drivers, private property, low annual, etc Still always over 2400 ...
Yeah add your dad or your sister on the policy should drop it a bit. Since I've just got my 2 years no claims insurance is now a lot cheaper so you might just need to hold out a bit longer.
Mum doesnt drive, if i add my dad and me as named driver it does come down considerably but it becomes a bit of a fiddle and 2400 is just insanity. Thing is, i live in the middle of nowhere out in the fell of weardale DL13 2EP lol
Thats why they said add your dad as a named driver, not the policy holder, it should still drop it a bit.
how is it a fiddle? As long as he actually drives it once in a while theres no hassle. you're right. 2400 is rape, where did you get that?
oh right, sorry i misunderstood, how does that work then? i'd have thought it would just go up a few hundred
thats been my average from everyone i have tried, tried all compare sites, and individually through tesco, saisnbury's etc, saisbury's wont even bother lol they just said no due to low amount of years on licsense
Because it brings the average risk down. I've always had my mum as a 2nd driver, just incase she needs to drive it :-) oh and it saves 500 Only works with meerkat companies tho, specialists like sky won't lower the premium for this. Sent from my Desire HD
because the way the insurance sees it, the less time you spend driving it and the more time an older more experienced driver does the better. Edit: beaten to it above
Oh gotcha, makes sense like, and great savings from that insurance prices for younger drivers are still stupid all together though, pay like 6 times the price of the car just to drive it for a year
Even when I was 32, getting insured, I added a mate who was 55 as 2nd driver and it always lowered it by about £60.
I'd say it was down to your postcode mate. I'm 28, 5 years ncd and a clean licence but it would still cost me £3k+ to insure a 2.5 r33 Bad times.
