my school seats getting a bit boring!!
another video from another trip to sussex!
Instead of an engine, how about a washing machine motor or something and a car battery? no noise problems there until it runs out of charge and you start shouting at it

rofl, yer i like it!! i think me shouting at it would be more annoying than an engine!
its a gravity sport so we havent ever tried fitting any sort of motor or even ever needed pedals!
altho there are some out there, NZ and USA of course!
what sort of distance are your rear wheels apart, was thinking of about 1M from the outer edge of the wheels??
My frame is almost sorted now..... front end is all chopped and welded, got the stub axles welded to the box section for th rear, just to shape the box, weld the nuts to some plates then it's all set to get painted up
Making the rear section unboltable so it will come in 2 sections making it easyer to fit in a car boot![]()
we just did it so we can get feet on to push off with, and a seat, so it all depends on your seat width really, but a meter sounds fine!
awesum news, we were meant to come to wales this weekend but it got called off... once youve finished it let us know and we will come over to wales!!
yer unboltable rear section is good if your pushed for space!! get some pics up too!!
it's almost finished.... total pain in the arse as I've had to make the seat adjustable as I can't fix it in one place due to Nephew not being here and it would spoil the surprise!
Here are a few pics of the bits as it stands at the mo:
Detachable rear end (bolts through where the peddle spindal used to be with a 3rd on the top tube to secure it):
Rear frame:
Front section before painting:
the red bits:
Jono
finished... almost!
Just got to black the seat, or red, not sure yet!! Next on the list is to give it to the birthday boy, then find a hill!!
Oh yea, for anyone who is thinking of building one and not sure what wheels to use on the rear, indoor gokart wheels work well (have to be the fronts) but they are total twats to get inside the plastic tube..... plenty of soap and stong fingers needed!!!

Latest video from Drift Trikes UK
Hi guys, love the work and love your story. I'm in the process of collecting bits to build myself a drift trike. I live in Wales so theres plenty of hill to have a go on.
Bloody shock horror!!
I get one of these sorted for my nephew, and 3 months later there is a big anouncment in the family..... (Brother in law) guess what guys, I've got a new job and looks like we are heading to AbuDabi...... land of no hills, so this trike is going to lay dormant for 5 years!
unless I do something totaly different and make something new that I have never seen beforeA sand drifter!!!
Aparently they have places where you can do sand boarding with lifts etc. so why not make a drift trike work on the sandshould be interesting if nothing else!
