Got a 200sx sdirteen she ran a couple of times ect changed the oil ect and now every time I try to crank it the 30a ignition switch fuse blows immediately. Can't see any issues with the loom or anything seriously ropey fuel pump doesn't even cycle but can hear the eccs/starter clicking ready to crank (ca18det auto BTW) any ideas I'm about.ready to set fire to the bugger also has an immobiliser
Short circuit on the starter solenoid wire which is right near the oil filter, engine earth near there too, also alternator etc, big block of loom plugs there, have a good check round see if anything been disturbed etc... some ideas, hope this helps...
Thanks bud starter does look pretty old but then again it's an old binter. Shall report in tomorrow with findings also running out of 30a fuses lol cheers bud
Disconnect starter solenoid wire and crank, if the fuse stays good, you know its the starter :-) good luck!
Had a look it all looks OK although I can't see the command wire just two hefty buggers going from loom to starter from starter to block? Checked all eccs systems traced earth's from fuel pump to fuse box looks OK still.blowing the fuse though any one who is good with s13 come.get her started will pay for the time and a amazing Maccies cheers
S13 wiring diagrams This might help also you could unplug all the plugs on the inner wing under the battery, see if it blows and see if it is the engine side or the body side of the loom, if its the body side could be damage to the wiring that runs through drivers wing.
Got the fuel pump cycling again almost like we.are 90% there just chasing the last gremlin but it's nails to find the short/ last issue that keeps making the ignition fuse blow
Took the starter motor command wire off ( plug to spade connection on starter solenoid) and tried it but still blew the ignition switch fuse :/ seriously don't know what to do with it now anyone?
All fixed and running like a dream was a short illness spotted and overlooked as the wire that was frayed was tiny like a mouses helmet. That combined with a dodgy ignition switch but all good now cheers guys
