I'm thinking of importing one as a daily and looking into the 250t model with the VQ25DET engine.. Only problem is I cant find much on the VQ25DET itself regarding tuning.. Anyone had any experience with them?

    Thanks

We imported and sold one not so long ago, nice cars and cheap too...

VQ is the same as what's in the 350z (VQ35), oil filter and plugs (just need hotter ones for turbo) all fit.

Brakes are from the Nissan Terrano 4x4 and the chassis is based on the G-35...

You can find lots of useful reading from the Aussie websites.

I'm considering a 3.5 one myself, shame they didn't do an FR one with VQ25DET otherwise I think that's what I'd be going for.

    Thanks for the info GETitSIDEways,

It just occurred to me how would I go about registering one. I have imported a few cars all of which have been pre 2001 so when filling out the v55 registration form I have put the tax class as PLG (This is for cars up to 2001)..A 2002/2003 M35 Stagea will be over 10 years old so won't require A SVA test from my understanding... if that is the case How would I or the DVLA determine the tax class?
(cars after 2001 are taxed based on co2 emissions)

    Respect...Yep school boy error...Duh.
SPlug usually bigger in number though.

Correct - An MOT is all you need for 10 years and older.

Stick it in band K = which covers cars over 225g of Co2 and registered before 2006 so that's £156.75 for six months.
