Car went to be mapped last week by Steve Sadler at FC Tuning however due to a boost leak problem we couldn't map it, turned out the wastegate was stuck open due to soot and dirt, this has been cleaned and fixed and now holds a solid 1 bar of boost and I was going to put it upto 1.5 bar of boost for mapping! Problems / job list - Front crank seal has slight leak (I have a genuine seal waiting to be fitted) - Water temp sensor required for ecu so fans come on - I currently have put a switch in for now - Tracking is slightly out but very drivable still! (due to putting the HSD's on) - Needs mapping - Washer jets missing but pump works, pipes still there, just need the washer jets - Paint work is faded and it looks poop! - Ideally needs a bonnet as the current one looks cool but people could potentially fiddle with your engine... I haven't left the car unattended in a public place since putting it on the road! The car has changed recently from some of the phones as I've been tidying it up slowly but surely, but you can get a feel for the car So how much is it worth? - And no this is not a for sale thread, it's a way up my options thread =)
There are worse spec fd's with 13b's for that price - ouch! Think I will keep it forever bearing in mind how much it's cost me to build so far!
You say that like the 13b isn't a desired engine! Remember most people are buying fd'd for that reason. Having a different engine in there further reduces your market too ye...never look at how much you spend unles your building it to sell. How much do you think its worth? In the second hand market?
Yeah this is the one... It's changed a lot!! The 13b is a reason why a lot of people don't buy rx7's too - I love the 13b however the 1jz is a far nicer setup from my experience (this being my 3rd FD)
