And could cast their eye over this lotus elise for me while you're there please? LOTU ELISE Unfortunately I haven't got time to get down and I know there are regulars on here. Many thanks, Gareth
Depends on the condition really. If it just needs a new clam (and I'm not saying that's all it needs, but that's what the pics make it look like) then I think it's not a bad price.
No mate, still tempted (it finishes tomorrow) but I don't fancy chancing it without at least someone having a look for me. Difficult to get a feel for it on those few pictures. Also looks like the wiring might be a bit dodgy as there looks like some cabling running from the gear stick to the dashboard...
I don't mind the VX220's to be fair. If you were to look at it on paper I would imagine this to be the better car, I just prefer the Elise but I certainly wouldn't rule one out.
at near 5k id say its not worth it, once you got it repaired and any potential issues sorted you may as well go get one thats not crashed.
looks like its been in a ditch/up a bank. id be surprised if nothing underneath is bashed up. they like to play down the damage in the photos. how much is a copart account these days? they have a tidy recovery truck listed I wouldn't mind.
I was trying to work out how it was damaged, think you've nailed it with up a bank / into a ditch. I think the accounts are £30 a year but I'm sure someone will clarify...
I spoke to the guy who i knew owns a vx220 he paid 2 grand for it with engine trouble he ended up fitting the 2.0 litre turbo engine(has now been played with) did some brake and wheel, suspension, cooling upgrades and stripped it a bit he think its cost about 6k all in. it did the ring in 7.57(the owed used to be into porsches before he got poor) So might be something to bare in mind
