| tail slider | We're in the process of finalising arrangements for a BIG event in Cornwall throughout this summer, so just gauging interest etc. at this stage... The bare-bones are that the event will consist of: A fully kitted quarter-mile drag strip (with trophies awarded); A seperate drift area (layout to be determined); Static Vehicle displays (ie: show n' shine and trade stands etc.); Full on-site catering services; Fully marshalled There are a few noteable benefits of the location: NO NOISE RESTRICTIONS; A large amount of space to play with; A great location in sunny cornwall during the popular summer period. It would be great if as many of you guys could provide an input into the final arrangements for this in order to ensure we run the kind of event that incorporates as much of the stuff that YOU want as possible... So hit me with some ideas.... For example: Your ideal course layout (freestyle arena, drift track or both?) Tyre changing facilities? Cheap drift tyres on the day? Mobile Rolling Road? Looking forward to your input guys!!! ![]() ![]() |

| tail slider | It's an MOD airfield, so as such, it's an extremely well maintained surface. As far as size goes, there are a total of 3 or 4 (can't remember off the top of my head) BIG runway areas, along with associated open 'staging areas'. Although I'm not 100% sure on how much of this will be set aside for drifting at this stage (as this will rely heavily on feedback from you guys)! |

| If it is portreath (or similar), obviously you are splitting off areas for different sections of the show. Ideally for the drift bit you want to use a bit of the airfield where it meets/crosses another part so you can use that as a corner, or you are restricted to coning a smallish track on the narrow bit, where as combining the 2 would keep it interesting. (or even find a series of sections where they join) Oh and remember a pit area! Will it be demo drifting or 'come and have a play in your own motor' affair? As it may be worth have a track of sorts and a skiddy pen for newbies |
