No Spam or shite in this thread please. It makes it really difficult for people to be clear on what's needed for the day.

Driftracing Drift day at Lydd International Raceway.

£65 Drift all day at one of the UK's most famous drift tracks.

Numbers limit is 25.

Get your name down in this thread.

New regulations for the practice days are as follows:

Helmet (as usual)
In-car fire extinguisher (hand held acceptable) in an accessible position.
Race-suit/overalls (These can be rented from the track if needed)
Cars MUST be tidy.
No leaks from cars at all.
Secured harnesses, 3 point seatbelts.
No loose interior.
No bald tyres.
Bald tyres with wires NOT hanging out, can be left with the track, if the wires are exposed, you have to take them away.

A mini 'scrutineer' will be done to make sure no one is flouting the rules.

Best behaviour is required.

Tyre changing can be done on site very cheaply.

Drift tuition available on the day.

Reasons for the new regs will be pretty obvious to most of you, after what some people turned up wearing last time.

£65 drift all day. Pay on the day. Get your names on the list.

Just a few things to add, these have come direct from the track, so no quibbles, no arguements, respect the rules please.

* Hire Race suits are for driving in not mechanics overalls.

* Re dirt drops / grass. This is not part of the driving/ drifting area and has now been re-turfed out of the drift day funds , may only be £80, Columns of tyres will be in said areas and more of them, SO they will stay off the grass or we will start banning people on the spot who dirt drop....No refunds their fees go to replacing turf.

* Accidental spin offs I have no prob with , thats the nature of the sport.

* Re: Passengers: all passengers are to be collected from pitlane , only marshals, Sam & Nick should be out of cars on LIVE circuit. Other than signed on photo people.....no more than 2 at a time.

* We are not covered for timed laps on drift days this invalidates the insurance that I have in place. Probably quite a bit more for a sprint. We will check with Insurance company next week, and find out the cost. This could mean putting drivers fee up to cover it. Also Ins would prob insist on having fire truck there. Dont really think its worth the hassle.

Any queries, please post them here. Please bear in mind, warning after warning has been given re dirt drops, we'll be handing out gardener's gloves very soon, and you'll all come down to a drift day, and be made to plant flowers all day.

As a bottom note, foam extinguishers are preferred to powder. But either will do for this one as it's new regs.
Cheers

We all have commitments mate that sometimes you just cant avoid.......or possibly traffic, breakdowns etc.......remember we all dont have the luxury of dossing close the night before
who the fuck said anythign about me being special coz im in a team !!!!!!!!!!!!! i havent lost community love at all , in fact i usually go out my way to help anyone if i can but im sick of pricks who can organise themselves in advance and cause me to loose out on track time.

i manage to do the day and shuffle work and every other commitment i have around being there on time. I live an hour 1/2 away and im always there on time . And wats luxury about sleeping in your car in the car park the night before!!!! ... i been to 10 lydd days at the very least and 6 of them have been in my car the night before ...

im in total agreement. i showed up at norfolk on friday at 1pm, helped set up the track with sweeps and some other early arrivals (while a few drivers stood watching us lug around the heavy barriers i might add), set up my car, put my tent up, lent my car to sweeps to test the track and then lost over an hour of track time sitting around waiting for a few drivers who had rolled up late i would have been very angry if it was usual £70+ rates

you do all have the luxury of dossing in luxury close by the night before! as i always say, its an open invite to stay at mine, ten mins away from lydd. (at the cost of a few pints/some tyres/sexual favours)

i agreed with mike, it is a bit frustrating paying £65 then having to wait for late people to turn up.

oh and mike is "special" ha ha!

well to put it like this ... 12 lydd days with a 1 hour delay thanks to late comers means i loose out on 120 quids worth of skid time as thast pretty much 2 full days at lydd

cant say i see any of the people responsible digging in to there pockets to compensate ..

Cheers Ash for the can of worms he opened by riling Mike, Jack and Cookie.

Cheers Mike, Jack and Cookie for more junk in this thread.

Guys, you know I try not to have too many delays when getting it started, and try to brief late-comers seperately. Sometimes we cannot predict the traffic/Wall of Lorries on the M20.

But in all fairness some have valid reasons, Im working a night shift the night before and wont get to leave B/Stoke until 08:00'ish so wotn get to Lydd until around 10:00, at which point I would be very pissed off if I had to miss a mornings skidding because of it, why cant late comers be briefed 1-2-1 as they arrive, it only takes a few minutes......

They will be. The early-comers will be briefed in the morning.

Don't worry about what Mike says. I normally do the main one when the majority are there.

Some people can't help being a bit late, the track isn't on everyone's back door. Worst case scenario is you have to wait for me to finish whatever I'm doing at the time to get briefed and scruted.
