| i don't like this bitching-light hearted as it is, i'm hardly a 'regular' but i've been to two and enjoyed both, used all the tracks, the second time 80% on the main track and linked it reasonably good, next time i go back will be with boost leak sorted/much better suspension, and tbh i wasn't that in to the ques and smaller tracks, as i'm bored with the smaller tracks, got them done pretty good which i'm happy with, i'm no god but with reasonably good skill set and my reasonalby good car made better i reckon i could smoke it with the big ones, but next time i attend a pod day i reckon it'll have to be a fast/advanced day as I want the higher speed stuff, cba with burning tyres perfecting my drift round the crowd and small kidney track styles. need to save tyres for a small amount of runs on the EDC track and 80mph entries are much more appealing to me. papercutout you really should get an easier car to live with, i'm sure your having fun and i've seen you do ok, but an s13/14/even a 325/335 would be much easier on you, it may not mean your the ultimate DK, but you'll do better drifts with the same effort but a slightly inflated petrol and tyre bill. and when you manage to max that out you'd able to walk into BDC am and compete, should you want to. anyway i'm just a noob as well so i'll just sit back, see you guys around some day but for anyone new/out of touch/thinks they can drive(not just thinks, but actually can and has a decent enough charriot) i'd bet a fast dwyb will be a damm good day out. |

| What car are you driving Papercutout? Pretty much everyone will agree that learning in a less capable car is a much better way to start as it teaches you the basics that an s13 etc wont teach you. In a crap car you simply have to use every technique to make the car go sideways and stay there, where-as in an s13 you'll use power over-steer for years before you even realise there are other ways. If you are getting mad with it then you need to listen to more advice, I bet Lex or the other boys at DWYB could easily get it sideways? Stick with it (unless whatever it is is absolutely horrific!) and you'll be better for it in the end. |

I was annoyed that i had to get a lid for EDC testing last yr but accept that if you want to skid fast, on track you need a pukka helmet for most the decent tracks in UK ![]() If your just on kidney track then helmet is not mandatory ![]() Quote:
and it really, really is - most fun ive had at pod and ive done a fair bit of skidding at pod ![]() | |||

| Yup - i will answer it here ![]() You can attend this DWYB without a BDC or similar licence ![]() The girls on reception may still be saying you need one as they have yet to be briefed by Pod head marshall Daz - Once FIA main event is out of the way this weekend i guess he will have chance to advise them ![]() |
