turned out that the weather was spot on, only showered twice which kept the track damp and all of us dry only took the car out for a few runs (in between overheating and fuel pump issues, but it actually worked for once and i had some fun for a change) Good to speak to a few guys there today, plenty of good driving impressed with Sierra Guy who finally got convinced to go onto the big circuit si

Wot a day.... Got stuck in traffic for over an hour coming down the M1 due to a lorry fire ![]() Then got stopped by the old bill coming onto the A45 as there ANPR cameras picked up that my car wasn't insured. So half an hour wasted while they contacted my insurance company to check that I was insured. Wanky insurance company hadn't forwarded the details to the data base people. Gave one of em plenty of time to check my car out. Happily it was all in order and they actually complemented my cable tie stitching skills Had a bit of an argue about my car being overloaded as he put it. "Overloaded its just low officer, those tyres in the back weigh less than you 2 put together, so if I took them out, fitted a seat and drove off with you 2 in the back I'd be overloaded would I?" Northants Old Bill, not the nastiest out there but also not the brightest In all fairness they were ok, even offered to lend me his phone to call Santa Pod to let them know I was late. As for the days skidding.... great day, friendly bunch of lads, loads of seat time, great track Spent ages on the kidney and then got talked into going onto the big track for the last couple of hours. Struggled to drift it well but was an experience Was a bit worried with it being an advanced day and me being a beginner (3rd track drift day) I'd get piss ripped out of me or made to feel unwelcome but it was the complete oppersite.Great day, can't wait for the next one ![]() Hope you got back ok tetsujin with your fookered clutch.

Just to let you all know incase my avatar confuses anyone, I had the red S14 with various straps and cable ties......lol Doughnutter - You loved that kidney, I didnt think we would ever get you off that dude, but you got a lot better as the day went on.... tetsujin - Mad little Corrola you had there, she looked well chuck'aboutable ![]() Sx-Si - Good to convoy up with you dude and going in each other passengers seats...... Guy with the red rims, black S14, good to meet you, hope all your pipes held together ok in the end and thanks for the use of your lid..... Guy with the 1jz, also good to chat to you over some familiar engine, and next let the misses have a burn lol...... And the guys with the twatted rear end, 10/10 for the crash backwards into Santa Pods van, hope you get the car sorted eventually and didnt have any hassle getting home, Im sure old bill would have a field day over your crumpled rear end and cabled tied lights lol, also thanks for lending us your lid..... Well my run down for the day, is I had so much fun and could actually see how much better my drifting got over the day. I have only ever managed to skid in 2nd gear and started on the kidney clockwise as I always do, I cant seem to skid as well going anti-clockwise but after putting a few dedicated laps going anti-clockwise I was actually finding I was drifting better that way then the other. So after a couple of hours on the kidney I took a brave breath and went on the EDC track, now the back side of it through the S's I was ok on and linking them well, well I have never linked anything that good, so I had a massive smile on face behind that helmet while I was going round, then the bottom big corner was just a joy everytime, but then came the other side which really needed 3rd gear as I just manji'ing in 2nd all the way and knew it just wasnt the way its supposed to be done, but venturing into 3rd gear on the slide while looking at concrete blocks certainly made my starfish tighten up a bit, but after easing myself into 3rd gear gently, I came up to the back bed in 3rd gave a little tug on the handbrake while turning in and caught her on the slide and just kept it there, what a feeling 3rd gear is when your drifting, so much faster then 2nd depsite it only being one gear up, but by 14:00 I actually found myself linking quite a bit of that track together at times, so that was my highlight and my other highlight was when it was just me and WideboyS14 was following behind me, it felt really good, dunno how I looked, probably a bit gay at times, but I dont care, I was loving it. So 14:00 and I thought I better head as I have a 12hour night shift tonight and didnt want to get caught in traffic and knew leaving them wouldnt get me back till 16:00'ish, so I took a gamble as I didnt have any more money on me for tyre matey to swap back to my good rubber and that would mean leaving POD to find a cash point so I ran with what was on there, which bit me in the ass, as soon as I got on the M1 the left rear blew, buggggeeerrrrr, so pulls over, jacks her up, totally forgetting my handbrake button is still tapped up and while getting the spare out of the boot I knocked the car and she fell off the jack , so had a 45min mission getting the jack under there raising her, putting her down onto the blown wheel, re-positing the jack and finally getting the spare wheel on, all while those wannabe coppers on the motorway pulled up to see how I was doing, although thanks for the man size wet wipe for my hands lol ![]() Cant wait for the next one guys..... Thanks to Gareth for running this while Lex was away, great attituted with the drivers, letting us take care of ourselves as long as we all use a bit of savvy, it was nice to not be policed to much RULES.......
