| Finished at 0500hrs this morning! had one hours sleep after changing the manifold (twice), completely rebuilt the rear suspension after having driveshafts longer than the existing ones and not having a clue why????, finally thought I was finished at about 0230 when I realised one of my front hubs was literally about to fall out so I had to rebuild all the front passenger side as well ahhhhhhh I'm fecking tired! off to Lydden, hope its all ok. Unbelievably I've managed to keep the geometry to something drivable after extending the rear track by 3cm and cuffing it by eye! Hope I havn't spoke to soon ![]() |

| Just had the most amazing day skidding EVER!!! Absolutely epic, miles better than any track I've ever skidded. There was only about 6-8 people skidding and the boys (and girl!) were ripping it apart! I managed to completely link the big fourth gear entry on my last run earlier on I couldn't quite link the curves into each other as I had too much grip and not enough horseys to keep it going and was straightening slightly midway, but later I got it with some more pressure in my tyres.I clocked entries on Paddock Bend at 90mph in fourth and third, I'm absolutely tripping as I've never touched fourth before. The track is just incredible, BDC will be awesome and I can't wait for the next track day that uses the whole track For anyone who thought there wasn't enought time; not a single person managed to use all their time today! A pair of part worns were lucky to last the 15mins, usually not. I was going through one or two brand new tyres in one 15mins session. Altogether I went through two sets of front tyres and six pairs of rears and four of those were brand new! I havn't slept for two days as I was up all night building the car, got an hours sleep at 0500hrs and left home at 0600hrs. To top matters I killed a fan belt on the way down and the car over heated, I was having nightmares that my day would end before it even begun after so much effort. I ended up cruising to Ashford powered by my battery pack (alternator was also on belt) and fixed the car at an auto-factors in the road! I just got to Lydden on time for the first 15min session. |
