Really pleased for you guys,

This is EXCELLENt news,

I dont want to seem like Im knocking, when im actually asking a sensible question (for a change), but why are both UK rounds in the fairly North of the country at a relatively small track when Silverstone or similar "proper" track is more central and would mean you could have one with a slightly more northerly bias and one with a touch more southerly bias ??

I look forward to competing against the Irish guys at Teeside, if Im allowed to enter, but i am just surprised by this particular decision.

Because Teeside is the best drift track in the UK is my guess.

Not to mention the fact it can draw a big ass crowd like nothing any other drift event in the UK has ever had.

I think its a good call, its not exactly in the sticks, just miles from us!

Stav,

You misunderstand me,

I can agree its a tight technical track that has its merits for ONE round, but to have both there is a bit of a negative statement in my opinion,

But I commend Karl, Graham and the guys for doing this,

I wasnt thinking about the 2 rounds there thing really when I wrote that mate, but im not sure about tight and technical- entry to the 1st corner on the main track is top of 3rd gear, or even 4th!

Then it tightens up (2x 2nd gear corners) after the massive sweeping 1st corner (a 180deg corner in 3rd/4th), then speeds up and ends in 3rd gear stuff again.

Pretty quick i reckon

But about 2 tracks, i dunno, maybe dont want to muscle in on EDC who concentrate on the south? And if its about atmosphere, then Teeside is the only place to be.

Sounds good. Hopefully get to a few places in 2008. As a spectator only like. (Damn I wish my driving skills would improve)!

Definately at Teeside ones, i think being there twice will be worth it. Will try and get more and more people there. Should get some good support from the north-east.

what are the rules and regulations to be aware of to participate in on of these events? Sturup is 2 hour drive from my place and i just been there driving with the 180SX. But to what reg. Should the car be built? Bare in mind that we dont have ANY events in Denmark that states a regulation about half or full cages, safety equipment and things like that. I would be to bad to miss an event like this because i couldnt prepare the car right.

Please leave me feedback either here or with a PM.

Thanks

Fantastic news!!! Teeside ! The atmosphere is double what ever you can get at Silverstone due to the close proximity of the crowd to action!

Got to agree with Stav that its got to be the best track !

Where do i pay ?

Some interesting rules there that are above and beyond EDC regs...

Glass sunroofs must be removed from the vehicle (literally removed or replaced?)

The rear seats, air conditioning, radio, interior must be removed. (radio? )

All cars must have shatter proof windows, stock windows covered in clear film. (Driver and passenger) (sensible I guess)

Spare bumpers are required as car must run full aero for top 16. (bit of a bugger)

How come some of the regs are in bold?

Fantastic news-great work to all at ProDrift

Steve, my mate has had a carbon sunroof made to replace his glass one, and if the S13/14 has the same aperture as the 15, he can get more made in carbon or FRP.

Do you need one, or are you just stating rules people may not have seen?

Great news guys, looking forward to it.

Bumpers!! I can hardly find (read can't find) stock bumpers for my car let alone aftermarket. Serves me right for having an oddball I guess
