21st ,
Well this weekend has proven to me that the irish lads are killing it ATM, there is a lot of stepping up to be done.

Track was amazing, Saturday eve practices was great as it was dry, hitting the 1st corner top of 3rd about 80-85 i recon of me, such a rush!!

Sunday qualifying was not to bad pretty wet and greasy in spots from the morning rain made it a fir bit tricky-er my 3 runs went OK i thought 2safe runs entering at 75 and getting the clipping points fine, but not enough to earn a top 16 .
Some work needed on the FC as deffantly struggling with lack of powers.

Showing that Bon and Declan only making it to the top 16, that's proven to me that these drivers in Ireland are the ones to beat .

see ya at round2 Jon

never in my life did i ever think i would see so much smoke angle and speed from a bright green mk2 escort, but i did!! amazing

standard of drivng and running of the event is amazing so mint, everyone getting on and there for one reason, to skid and watch top skidding!!

i was/am dissapointed with how i drove in qualifying, i wont make excuses of it being new car/new track, i had fun thats all that matters, car is amazing for a dirty nissan, home in one piece, which is what i wanted!!

thanks to PRODRIFT for having us and putting on top event, thanks to my team mates drift republic and fellow DW member bon for advice on setup, thanks to phil and big thanks to GREG at WESTON for spending prety much all friday getting my car to run, of rollers 1030pm friday night!!

Was Bon Bon not happy with the result of his runs?
The judging was fair enough, until the end, dont know what they were at but they seriously fcuked it up.
What happen was the result from the judges was givin too the commentator on the radio's but one radios was faulty an he heard the result wrong was all simple mistake lads pity it happend but easy too happend....

Bon Bon an Mick deane had some battles great too watch , On the last battle of the 3 they where 5 - 5 into the final run Bon Bon leading,
Mick deane closed in on him on Honda corner which in my eye's is what put him through very little between them .....

I see driftworks sponsoring Prodrift series too great too see ......

Guys im from Donegal and four of us headed down to the track on Sat mornin.
Fantastic stuff from Bon Bon ,control smoke and really good fun to watch.
Im a wee bit ify on the judgin, they might have to do some homework on angle and style.

In my eyes Bon Bon should have indeed went through.

I was over in Japan and seen some D1 stuff and both ENG and IRL are putting up good fights.
Long may it last, and fair dues to all the guys who traveled over the water.

Long may it last.

yeah he got pretty mad about that!

Good news that it came home in one piece AGAIN and thank god the gearbox didn't shit its self!

Watching Bon and Mike Dean was amazing , the crowd were so behind Bon (thank Sweeps for the airhorns and hands!) just could shake Mike off. Bon drove well, can't win them all!!

everyones support and help was mucho appricated! especially Clarkey!

I also though Buff's last run in qualifying was pretty damn good and surprised Shayne Lynch didn't get through to top 16!

ah well next round id on home turf!!

Overall, I was REALLY impressed with the driving today! From Ireland, UK, and abroad, there were about 8 drivers who could have taken the win had it not been for minor mistakes. I think this series is as competitive if not moreso than the US events as far as competitive skill goes.

It was grand meeting many of you, look forward to coming over again soon

was that you in the red coat giving off about our cold irish climate?

if so i was the one in silly hat and scooby coat

I'm back home & all in one piece

The Soarer was going great guns all weekend, in fact I was loving it, huge amounts of grip for me out there, the 1100kg beastie really is sweet to handle now. Big thanks to Clarkey for some on route to Dublin motoway mobile mapping, she was fuelling all over the place on the way up & now she's

My gardening/armco incident was caused by my power steering belt popping off & winding itself round the pump Not good when I was a couple of feet off Mulvey's rear quarter at the fastest part of the circuit. Result = Immediate exit stage left, thought I was gonna miss the armco - oh no I'm not - oh shit

Damage is'nt as bad as it looked, I was going to fix it for the 5 min rule, then realised it'd popped my oil cooler in half So game over. Luckily my car is so heavily lightened it does'nt have any inner wings/valances to damage Headlight & indicator quarter lens are fine thank god for zip ties So its just a wobbly wing & a bent bonnet. We fixed her up at the track, bypased the oil cooler & stuck it back together with a whole role of gaffa tape

She drives all fine, cruised her back to Belfast to Buff's place to be fixed up & she'll stay there till Knockhill. No major damage at all, just a few broken zip ties & needing a new oil cooler kit.

I'd also like to say it was great to get a yarn with Bon Bon and Declan who are the only 2 UK drivers i'd know from past trips to UK and also to the PD staff whom i know from working alongside before who more than welcomed me back to photograhing the event after over 2 years sabatical from drift coverage

Have to say was massively impressed with the drivin, first time seeing the legend that is Bon-Bon, seemed kinda shy, always hiding in a cloud of tyre dust!
