I dont understand insurance. Cefiro Drifta was quoted 430 for his cef all mods ect ect. Now i dont know how old he is but im 26, 7 years NCB and i get quoted 415 FC on a 1275 1991 VW Polo 'COUPE'?. Is it because its classed as a coupe when its clearly not. I know the civic and civic coupe are miles apart in insurance groups though the engines are identical. SORRY FOR THE LITTLE RAMBLE.!!!

BUT.. Sky did me justice by lowering there original quote by £115 to match another like for like quote.

Thank you for sticking to your price promise. SKY said they will beat any like for like quote, which they have done.

I still think ill be better off insuring an S13 rather than a Polo Coupe. SUCKS lol.

Oille, phoned up today to get a quote for my new skyline, it's only a gts-t.
I have just come to the end of a policy with sky insurance (the car was a mr2 import) and was refused any kind of a quote due to my age, which having skimmed read this thread and i should be more than eligible for cover.
I'm 22, 3 years ncb, live in a very low risk area.....?

Cheers Jay

Hi rb20inside,

as above we are only able to insure Skylines for over 25 year olds.. Skylines have a horrendous claims/loss ratio and by saying no to the younger 'supposed higher risk' driver we keep our claims stats low and can pass the savings on in other ways.

Apologies we were unable to help you.

regards

Ollie

That's skim reading for you. have just read more and thought i can get a quote on a s14 turn up the boost and run say about 270 brake or run a standard r32 with 220 brake.

Skyline TAX for you.

What about a S14 powered RB26?? pmsl

im 26 with 3 yrs no claims in uk , 2 in nz which more than likely dont count... think it just depends on lots of other circumstances like area, driving experience , wat u use the car for, mileage, access to other cars , insured on other cars etc etc etc

Perforance direct just quoted me 220 fully comp on a modded s13 as they classed it as classic and as im insured on other cars it dropped it loads

ollie u got some work to better that quote hehe

Rar, massive respect to Sky

Just spoke to a guy called Graham, renewal is due soon on the RX7 and if i dont sell it soon id have to reinsure it, thought it would be impossible because im 20 with 3 points.

£1570

Thats quality when ive been looking at other quotes of £2,400

if everything goes to plan with the registration it shouldnt be a problem.

but just out of curiousity, if i wasnt able to get the car registered within that month what would happen?
would it just be a cancelation of the policy?

but i shall give u a tinkle in july mate

Hi,

unfortunately our very minimum criteria is aged over 19 with a years no claims bonus. If you are very close to your 19th birthday we may be able to look at this for you.

Thanks
