Insurance for a month while I go to the Nurburgring?

I'm going to the 'Ring in April, can you cover my modified S13 for that one month? I dont actually want cover for the ring itself, I just want insurance against it being nicked and to drive the short road distance from the hotel to the track - and so I can get a tax disc before I go.

Other companies offering short-term insurance say they wont cover modified cars

You cant take a non insured car onto Touristdays. If youre invovled an incident the police will investigate and want to see the papers and youll be in a whole load of of problems.

I know most places wont insure on the ring itself and its at your own risk, but I understand they still have to honour any third party claims so you would be covered for writing off someones elses car etc.

Yeah thats what I mean - I want to have min. insurance so the car is legal, but I dont want some all-singing fully-comp track day cover

Hi,

sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I'm afraid the best we can do is a 12 month policy so we are not going to be able to help in this instance. There are not many companies (if any) who will offer you a policy for one month unfortunately.

Regards

Ollie

There are a few companies who offer short-term insurance - but none of them will offer it for a modified car unfortunately

Thanks anyway

If you find anyone let me know Pikey, HIC used to do it, for nice n cheap too but they pulled the policy because of the amount of accidents Never been able to find anyone that does short term modified since

You could try ringing HIC, I haven't asked them in a while and it must be getting on for a year ago that they pulled the policy type

Try ringing your current insurer, as when i was insured with Endsleigh on the volvo, i asked them to cover me on my (modified) astra and there were no problems at all!!!

So your best asking your current insurer first, unless you already have and they said no, in which case theyre crap.
