not 100% but I think the redtop TVIS have been bigports too so yes... if the head is a smallport you need some work done to fit your inlet.

It bolts to the ehad but the ports are completely different.
It will seal but will flow shit and screw with the power delivery.

Either cut and turn the manifold or cut and swap the end plates fo r the TB.
Note youll need to make a linkage adaptor.

    Narrow port head is better.
Get a manifold and have it cut and turned.

    google images on the subject.
    Youll see.

red top from an ae92 can be big or small port only late ones are small port 1990 to 1992

if its big it all bolts together but it is a better engine than the blue top miarginaly and not noticably it has 7rib block higher compresion etc etc

if its small port its definatly worth the efort to fit it just cut the inlet manifold and have some one weld it the other way round

driveing wise its got noticable more torque and power than the big port and makes a real difference in the 86

use big port cams in the small port engine for a small increase too (they have more lift and duration only a bit tho)

if you do change heads use the 7afe head gasket (corolla/avensis 1.8 engine) as this is the same as the TRD metal one

all ther differences are in the club4ag tech section
